Hi Guys,
In an Italian forum they suggest to order to the BBS02 48V with a controller 36V in order to lower the RPM to 90 and increase efficiency.
What do you think? Is that so?
Would make sense to run the motor higher in the rpm range and still allow rider to assist without spinning the legs too fast. I can see it helping drop battery usage quite a bit sharing more with the rider this way. Interesting way to improve range for lower speed use.
BBS01 is much more pleasant to ride and pedal. 02 spins too fast at higher power to pedal with. I think it was designed/geared for 36v originally. I am sure someone knows/remembers the first BBS series. I think they were 36v.
I'm running my BBS02 on 12S li-ion, charged to 4.1v/cell - this suits my cadence pretty well. Low Voltage cut is a bit early on 12s, but acceptable (you need to configure it to the loweset setting - don't remember).
