I bought the kit from a fellow member here, MLT34 and it is exactly as promised. I picked up a 48v 9.8ah battery from Paul & Moon @ EM3EV.

I bought this to put on my mountain bike. Due to impatience and the fact this bike wasnt being used anymore. I couldnt wait. So I put the 2 together!

Just got back from the 1st ride. Very cool and quiet. Will post as soon as it uploads.

Btw, that battery does not look skewed to 1 side on the bike, like it does in that photo.

Here is a video when I first assembled it and couldnt wait to test.

13 minutes of watching a BBS02 dash panel anyone?

Maybe next time I will try to get a view of the road too!

Since that throttle looks scary with tie wraps. I decided to make a mount for my road bike bars. I used the bar clamp and screw from an old set of Dia-Compe brake levers. I turned 2 small pieces of aluminum for the mount. Looks like a horn.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1424742586.480461.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1424742611.830110.jpg

I got a chance to ride it today (back from the auto repair shop ;)
Total mileage 19.0 m
Avg speed 19.1 mph
Max 32.7
I used a few settings from 5-9 to control speed as well as the rear derailleur. Most of the time it was on the 11t.
Houston area is pretty flat. I am out of shape and this was my first real ride out of need.
I wasnt sure how long the battery would last. According to the onboard indicator, I used about 1/2. I was providing some assist most of the time. Trying to pedal faster is an odd sensation, heavy on the legs. I am not familiar with the different terminology and techniques to address this issue yet. All of a sudden a torque sensor sounds like it might deal with just that.

All in all for a ride it was nice. Definitely a faster pace than I would have been able to maintain in many years if ever. It was a lot easier than any other ride of that distance. I could go a bit faster now that I see how long the battery lasts. I would be comfortable believing 30 miles was a realistic distance with a 20-23 mph average. I dont need more gear. I dont think the motor would like it. I did find downshifting the mechanical gears did help the load on the Bafang at times, on flat ground WFO. Plenty more to learn and do.

Very nice throttle mount!
You can change the Chainwheel to a 130mm and the bike will look even more stealth :)

Nice I thought about putting my BBS02 onto a road bike but decided mountain was best because of the crappy roads on my commute.
