I own one of these, bridgestone mb2...they are worth some money to collectors. I dont want to install a hub motor and risk damaging the dropouts, ect. So I was thinking middrive, since this bike is made to pedal and has a long wheelbase so its great for setting up as a tourer/mtb/commuter.

bbs02 would be nice, however a gng will be slightly faster? and will have more off the shelf parts locally

Afaik speed is relatively the same +-5kph
GNG is heavy and more complex as far as points of failure are concerned. I would think the BBS (being much lower profile) as the better option for that particular frame.

Middrive may cause some indentation markings/deformity on the bottom bracket surface if that matters to you.

that was another question of mine also.

For long and steep uphills, the BBS02 might not stand up to the heat, but for relatively flat terrain plus mild hills up to 30-MPH (45-kph) the BBS02 seems to have a lot of satisfied customers.
