Hey guys,

I have a BBSHD coming soon and I am looking for a hardtail 29er to mount it to.

I have my eye on a cannondale flash 29er that has a BB30 bottom bracket and doing some research it looks like a pain in the ass to get off and requires special expensive tools to remove the bearings.

Does anyone know if I can mount the BBSHD to it? I believe it is a size 68mm bottom bracket.

Thanks!!

This is what the bottom bracket looks like inside, I wonder if the bafang BBSHD will slide inside or will it get stuck on the bearing stop?.....

Your best bet is to measure the outside diameter of the bb shell and the outside bb shell of a standard bsa (the usual British threaded) and calculate the difference, if you do this you can measure the distance between the bb and motor casing on the bbshd and determine if that number (plus the wall thickness of the bsa bb shell) would fit I the gap, if it fits you can use one of these or similar by pulling the cups from your bb and pressing in this http://www.wiggle.co.uk/fsa-bb30-conversion-kit/

However if this is not the case you may need to get an eccentric bb adapter, eccentric just meaning the smaller hole is off centre so you can get a smaller bb wall thickness, theres one out there that may work but I cant find the link atm, googling an eccentric bb30 ti bsa adapter for an hours or so while tearing out your hair may yield results, but at that point you may as well increase your frame budget by the price of the necessary adapter and see I anything crops up with a bsa bb, a more expensive frame with the right bb shell will be far more reliable than one with additional parts to worry about, I've been doing the same research into this for a couple of months trying to mount a bbshd to a ruff cycles porucho, but I'm now mounting my own bsa shell to the seat tube of said frame myself, hopefully getting a more mtb-esk geometry and I can choose the bb height myself this way, best of luck and keep the thread updated on what you find or decide to do so we can all learn from it too!! :)

I installed the FSA BB30 conversion british threaded to my 73mm wide BB and it works great.

Thanks,

John

Do you mean it works great with the BBSHD?
