Best Brakes for hydraulic disc with regenerative braking?

Hey folks,
I am looking for a rear brake system (caliper/lever/203mm disc) with a built in switch for the regenerative braking on my MXUS V3. I have found a Magura MT5e that sounds reasonably priced. I would prefer to have only the rear brake lever control the regenerative braking because I prefer to keep the front and rear separate. I am not opposed to buying a front and rear set though, I just have a really nice avid code all set up on my fork already and would like to use it if possible.

Let me know what you guys have done that won't break the bank... I know there are simple switches you can rig up to any brake lever, however I am interested in something more robust and permanent.

I greatly appreciate everyone's advice!

Thanks,
John

I bought the Magura MT5e, actually 2 of them for front/rear, my bike isn't complete yet though. I'll only have the rear actually connected to the controller for regen, and both of them will be connected to the brake light.

Edit: I was just fiddling about with placement of things on the handlebars, and I realized this won't work. With standard wiring, either both brakes will need to activate regen, or neither will. The Adaptto guys didn't really plan ahead very far when they made the controller. If I want to do it the way I want to, I will need to include my own switch that will disconnect the throttle when I apply front brake.

Luckily I'm working with member powervelocity and he makes the controller, battery and everything, I just ordered the mt5e and I am confident he can make just one work.

Thanks,
John

Do Avid have such brakes ?

My old bike had BB7 from Avid and i love their brakes so doN't want to change it. ( had bad experience with shimano and tektro before)

thanks.

Tektro Dorados: nice quality modern hydraulic disc brakes with built-in switch, 203 rotors which are a little thicker than normal, and a big 3 or 4 finger lever. I have these on my 200+ lb cargo tandem and they have served me well.

It'll only take a single diode in line with the rear brake in order to have it so that both levers activate the brake light, but only the rear activates regen (also disengaging throttle/PAS).
