Best CHEAP Hub Motor Kit?

I'm looking for a low end e-bike kit for a co-worker. Only really needs to go 10-15 MPH, power isnt a big deal. 500W is fine. He probably wants to run it off 2 or 4 6S 5AH Turnigy Packs... 22.2V or 44.4V.

What about the cheap kits from BMS Battery? Something like this...

Whats the best low end kit for the price, and where do I get it?

I would spend a bit more and get something like this.

Consider the quality and support available. If you go with one of the main brands discussed here on the forum you will always have answers and help close at hand. If you get a no name system no one will be able to help if and when there is an issue.

That kit wont run off 22V, which he probably would actually prefer to ensure good range and nice and slow speeds. Yes, you can run 48 and turn the throttle less, but 24 would be preferred.

And then theres the little issue of it costing 2x more... $400 kits are not an option, in that range he could just get a Magic Pie for less, and have a integrated controller for a stealth build.

The #1 priority is low cost.

I think cell_man cells the cheapest hub motors / controllers. It all really depends on shipping.

Here's one listing that has two full e bike conversion packages with a 24V 250W motor for $50 and a 24 V 350W motor for $80. I cannot speak for the quality of this model since I have never tried it, but for this price of $50 or $80 plus shipping for the full conversion kit including batteries and everything, it doesn't seem like that bad of a deal even with the low power.

Those are the same motors I was looking at from BMS Battery. Great price, assuming shipping is reasonable. Only issue I can see is payment.

Cell_man 350w geared kit.
Run it at 10S ( 2 x 5s ) lipo.
Top speed would be ~18mph.

You can't get any cheaper than that. SAL shipping option really does make it the cheapest kit.

The golden motor kit deal from Canada comes in at 2nd.

Use the cell_man kit as described above, he has the best prices and he is a good vendor. If he had better customer service and a more complete website, he would charge more for his kits.

Ebikekits.com has a similar kit and will respond better, but they cost a little more...your choice.
