Best Ebike chain.

I've seen it said that the 7spd chains were bigger and stronger than 8-10spd setups. I can't personally verify that.

As you never change gear, are you actually using it?
I like a cheap but branded chain. $10 would certainly be enough. They don't last long whatever you spend, so go cheap and change it regularly.

Chain widths all vary. Single speed and BMX is super wide.
6/7 speed is thickest for derailleurs.
Then you go down in width as you add more gears on the rear.

8 speed chain is the same size as 6 or 7 speed ie 3/32"

Since you are using a hub motor, your chain won't see any more power than a human only powered bike. Any chain should do. However, KMC now specifies e-bike chains in various speeds. I have one, but haven't used it yet. Here is the 9.

I replaced the Shimano on my Mundo with SRAM 890 chain (spliced two together to get the long cargo length).

A noticeable improvement in shifting - very smooth on the DNP. Double chrome - no rust even in winter salt. Comes with SRAM PowerLink.

I got a few on sale for $20, but a quick price check today looks pricier...

I'm a price:performance ratio buyer and find that the best combination is the KMC x8.93 for 6/7/8 speed chain. I bought 5 packs from JensonUSA, but price matched to the best price I could find online: $52. I ordered other stuff to get the free shipping and the chains ended up costing $11 delivered per pack. Comes with a master link, so no chain breaking necessary unless to resize down from the 116 links included.
