Best material for battery impact shock absorption?

Are there any issues with overheating using packing foam or any other insulation materials

I use yoga mat cut into strips leaving 1/3 open to air. That way the air can still circulate a little. You don't want the battery in an ice chest type of deal. You can also use wet suit material for thinner areas.

I suppose that you could embed a little thermostat-controlled computer case fan in the foam, with a second vent hole and an On-Off switch...
 
If u sink them in resin then u don’t have to worry about them being banged around and I think you’ll be better able to transfer heat through the resin than stagnant air. U could add a mounting fixture to the potting.

Could pot them in a low temp theroform resin and extract them for recycling later.
