Hi all,

I know the best stuff is Sprayon A00601A00 Red Insulating Varnish, but I can't find it anywhere in Australia or anywhere that will ship to Australia.

Does anyone know any place it can be found in Australia?

Or...what is the best alternative? I like the idea of red if it's available.

My fall back is some high temp red silicone based spray paint, but I've used it (in black) before and it tends to rub off fairly easily.

Cheers

a local vendor carried Elmotherm which i used generously as my motor and controller are vented. in fact, tested it thoroughly just yesterday as i rode 10km in a steady rain, both were soaked and for good measure i rinsed the bike afterwards then ran it on the stand while making some adjustments - no issues and would recommend.

Thanks newb. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be anywhere local to me in Canberra that stocks this stuff and I can't find it online anywhere.
It also looks a little pricey for what I plan to use it for.

Find a shop that rewinds motors and alternators. They should have the proper stuff.
I would rather order something online and do it myself than mess around sending the motor off or taking it somewhere...during business hours I'm extremely time poor.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

I just did some more searching and found this on ebay from a seller who apparently ships to Australia.

Seems similar to the Sprayon A00601A00. Anyone know if it's any good?

Cheers

i paid $20 for a 400gm can

fyi, the local brisbane regal aus offered to post me a can for $35 so,
if you are not inclined to wait you may want to contact them directly

good luck

Shellac. It's traditional (highly flammable) floor varnish. Also used in nail polish and hard food coatings. Perhaps the wife or boatyard can help, or the motor winders as previously said. Though we don't mean asking them to do it. Ask them for some.
