Beware of fake capacity and cell battery for your ebike from AliExpress. I bought a replace battery for my ebike 48v 72 AH from AliExpress , however ebike did not even go as far as 2 km then it stopped. Battery was not 72AH was not even 10AH . So I started my research on AliExpress , what I found the majority of suppliers on AliExpress fake the capacity and quality cells battery's in order to get sales. So beware buying ebike batteries from ALIEXPRESS. Check capacity and weight to determine the correct capacity, however i would not trust that site if you paid me. cheers

Yes, we have numerous posts and threads about this subject if you look around, including ones for good trustworthy sources of batteries, cells, and other pars.

No mention of the store the op used on the platform called ALIEXPRESS, why not mention the store specifacally thats on aliexpress?

The store in mention is DAIKALA , however i did state the majority of suppliers you can't trust. I spend 1 week in emails to various suppliers and they were in denial. You can't get a 72AH and the weight is 1.8kg should have been at least 5 to 6 kg. My first Lithium battery i bought had no ideal they were fakes out there, until my research then I stated the emails. At least one supplier was honest and stated they do fake capacity in order to get sales thats his quoted msg. Again i only paid 100AUD should have woken up good quality samsung cells 20AH go for 6 to 700 AUD, SO 72AH for 100AUD should have woken up. .

The custom with sh*tty battery sellers online is to claim the sum total Ah of the cells in the pack. So "72Ah" might be 13S 4P of 1400mAh cells.

Like with the majority of the products and sellers on AliExpress be cautioned and do proper research first.
I've been a customer of AliExpress for probably 10+ years with mostly good experiences including the purchase of batteries.
I haven't bought batteries on there (but have seen sellers that can probably be trusted as much as any can), but over the years I *have* bought a fair number of small cheap things, mostly tiny electronics boards of various kinds, most of which have worked out fine. (only the ones I expected to have problems with did)

Most recently a bunch of ESP32, Arduino, and other robotics and prototyping stuff that were on deep enough sales to make it worth the chance that some of them won't work; cheaper than any other source, given the free shipping option during the sales. (won't know how good any of this stuff is as it doesn't get here till next month, and then I have to learn how to use it).

Reviving this topic, I just had a protracted discussion via DM with the sales rep from an AliExpress Store advertising ostensible Samsung INR18650-35E li-ion cells for US$1.067 each for lots >=200, with this being the first photo they show of the product:

... and here is the conversation:

=================================================================================================

OPRCE: Hi, I am interested in buying hundreds of the INR18650-35E cells you are selling, if they prove to be genuine and up to Samsung's spec in testing. Will you please send 2 pieces for this purpose?

#8BattStore: What kind of standards do you need?

OPRCE: The same Quality Control standards that original Samsung INR18650-35E cells must pass in order to be acceptable for and sold by them, e.g. recently manufactured with minimum capacity 3400mAh at 1C discharge rate, uniform weight around 49g, maintaining 80% of capacity after 500 discharge cycles, no leaks and resistant to vibrations/temperature fluctuations as per Samsung spec sheet.

#8BattStore: I'm sorry, if it's the same specifications as Samsung, it's not at this price anymore. We can't do it.

OPRCE: So which company/location actually manufactures the 35E cells you sell and what is the spec of the end product (as provable in testing)?

#8BattStore: We can only customize the capacity without machine testing.

OPRCE: How does that work?
Does this mean you print an arbitrary capacity on the cell sleeve, but without actually knowing the true capacity?
In any case will you please send me 2 samples of these 35E cells you currently have, for a thorough testing, and I will let you know the true capacity if you so wish?

#8BattStore: If you need it, just place an order directly.
We can produce any capacity we have.

OPRCE: Which company/location actually manufactures the 35E cells you sell and what is the spec of the end product (as provable in testing)?
i.e. before I place an order, what is the true capacity of the 35E cells you would propose to sell me today?

#8BattStore: 1800-2000mAh

OPRCE: OK, and which company/location actually manufactures them?

#8BattStore: DAIKALA

OPRCE: Factory location?

#8BattStore: Dianbai County, Maoming City, Guangdong Province, China.
We have many specifications, and you need to understand what kind of product to buy at what price.

OPRCE: Thank you. So if I now order 40 pieces of the INR18650-35E cells you have, for a battery pack test, what is your best price?
Also do you have any reliable 18650 cells of a higher capacity than the Dikala 35E's?

#8BattStore: This price of $1.07 is already the most favorable, and we have reported the event details.
Can you tell me the model and capacity you seek so that I can see if it can be customized?

OPRCE: 3200mAh in 18650 format

#8BattStore: No, it's usually 1200, 1500, 1600, 1800, 2000, 2500. If you want to have a real capacity of 3200, the price is also very expensive.

OPRCE: Daikala manufacture up to the capacity of 2500mAh, is that correct?

#8BattStore: Each product is different, subject to purchase.

OPRCE: Who makes the 3200mAh true capacity cell you would propose to sell me and what is your price for a batch of 200?

#8BattStore: Our current inventory of 3200 capacity is exhausted.

OPRCE: Ah, ok. Please give me a price for 40 of true capacity 2500mAh then?

#8BattStore: About 2 dollars/1pcs

OPRCE: OK, thank you for the kind assistance, I will consider some option and revert tomorrow.

My conclusion: with this outfit (and many other suspiciously cheap suppliers on AE) li-ion batteries from an arbitrary Chinese manufacturing plant are as a matter of course sleeved to appear as the genuine Samsung product, with the label indicating about twice their true capacity, then they are sold at about one quarter the price. These are not cells produced under contract for Samsung nor have they passed that company's QC standards in compliance with its spec sheet. !! CAVEAT EMPTOR !!
