Bike not turning on

Built my first bike and the bike was running fine the first day riding it. Parked it overnight and left the battery connected, but the power switch on the controller was off. The next day the battery was dead, even though when it was parked the night before it showed a full charge. Charged the battery with the battery disconnected to a full charge and left it overnight. Plugged the charger in the next morning and the battery was still fully charged. Connected the battery and the bike would turn on then off right away. Checked the battery connection and all the other connections and they seemed fine. Thought it was the battery connection cause it would turn on then off, so changed the battery connection and the bike will now not turn on at all. Am able to get the bike to turn on if the charger is connected to the bike, but if it is not connected then the bike will not turn on? Any ideas? The battery is an AllCell 48v 40a, the controller is a 40a infineon controller with a Cycle Analyst v3.

It really does sound a lot like a connection problem.

Start by tracing where you have power along the input wires with a voltmeter. Got power on the battery side of the plug, then see if you still have it after the plug, and so on. Could even be the wire is not soldered properly to the controller. Not real likely, but it's possible.

CA settings could be the issue, so try without the CA. That's a pretty common one.

The other one that popped up in a recent thread, you certain sure you did not change polarity when you put the new plug? Sadly, I still do that from time to time.

I hope you didn't short out the pack. Is there a on/off switch on the controller?

Thanks for the help. Need to get a voltmeter and will check the power at the pack. Do get a small spark when I plug the pack into the controller, a small indication that there is power?

There is a power switch on the controller. Hope I did not short the pack...

Re reading and thinking some more, a few things now jump out at me.

You don't have a voltmeter yet. So you don't know the battery ever charged. The green light on the charger tells you one of two things happened.

1 The charger shut off when it finished.

2 Or the charger is not connected to the battery. Look at the plug when you get that voltmeter. Maybe you just have a bad plug on the charger and it never charged. I've had this problem many many times. Sometimes it's just that simple.

And it's still quite possible you got the polarity wrong when you put the new plug on, or just that the new plug doesn't work. Sort it out with a voltmeter when you get one, starting with confirming that you have fully charged voltage, and polarity right. Then look to see if you have the bms trip off when you plug in.

Ok, got a voltmeter and the voltage coming from the battery was 45v, with the charger connected, was 54v. Also changed the battery to controller connectors again just to be sure. The bike will turn on if the charger is connected and charging. Did leave the charger connected after it was done charging and the bike on, after a couple minutes the cycle analyst showed "Low volts" and I turned the controller off. Appears the connections are fine, could the battery be bad? Its an AllCell 48v20ah.

Leave the battery charging overnight to see if maybe the cells will balance and take a charge. If your batt is not at 54v the next day without the charger hooked up, try to follow up on warranty since it sounds brand new.

Thanks for everyone's help with this. Turned out that the battery was bad, it would intermittently lose power. Was able to get the battery to work and read 54v, but after leaving the battery for 24 h unplugged, it would lose its volts to 46v. AllCell sent a new battery and it has been working well so far.
