Bionx battery compatibility question

Hi hoping for some advice. Totally new to Ebikes. Bought a 2014 Xtracycle edge runner from a neighbor for a good price. Everything working well with the g2 bionx system and dx 48v 8.8ah 423wh battery built in. However I’m concerned the range degraded and found a couple used batteries for sale. I thought in some cases I could just bring and swap an extra battery if needed. I found one that matches my specs so I’m sure that one will be compatible. But there’s another one the seller is sending me an offer for that’s the newer DV 48V, 11.6Ah, 557Wh. Both claiming to be in good working condition.

Question is this compatible with my system? And are the down tube track mounts universal, will this larger capacity one fit on my mount and be plug and play?

Not sure, but if the question is if the DX and DL batteries work with the same dock,

Ok thanks I did see that on the legacy site earlier as well but wanted to see if anyone had experience to confirm. Mainly though I still need to make sure the larger capacity battery can be swapped and will be compatible and not cause any issues, ie are these batteries interchangeable. Hoping someone knows the answer for sure before I spend $350.

I don't know where you are in CA, but if near socal you might call Electric Cyclery in Laguna Beach since they had extensive experience with BionX, before they folded.

As in used BionX batteries?

Run away.

Let's remember, BionX went out of business early-mid 2018. Their batteries were high quality but also had high parisitic load (unnecessarily greedy BMS) when sitting idle that would mercilessly brick itself as soon as the battery discharged itself below its LVC (helped along by the greedy BMS itself).

So, based on chronological age (7 years old at this point?) and that self-imposed bricking function, a used BionX battery would be a losing proposition. Unlesssss::::::::::::::: it was recently successfully rebuilt with quality cells and tested good. Otherwise, no.

That makes sense, I’ve considered that as well, batteries claimed to have been tested and claiming all cells are 4-4.1 volt, they claim it works like new. Again I don’t know anything about voltage or batteries or e-bikes. Maybe it’s been rebuilt?

My main concern is knowing if a battery is plug and play and compatible with my system.

(Note that reference to cells being 4-4.1V was for the 48v battery I found being sold by someone who seems to sell many bionx parts. I have no clue how many cells are in a battery. The claim works like new . But yes I am skeptical hence my posting here

If the cells are not identical voltages, they are not identical cells, and will not perform identically in use, so it will become even more unbalanced and perform worse, etc.

Any seller that gives a range of cell voltages (or any other cell property) is to be avoided, because their batteries are already worn out or broken or improperly built (or rebuilt).
