bmc hub 600w is Toast

My Puma motor did that also.
Post up some picture of the case with the large gear on it.

Let see if I can explain with words.

So there is a bearing the axle rides on. Make sure those are still good and have not slipped back towards the windings. If those slip AT all OR the become worn out in any way it causes your whole shaft to wobble only slightly causing binding and gear cluster rubbing. I ended up having to pound my inner axle bearing in (toward the bike dropouts) approx 1/8 if an inch and pound the one way (toward the bike drop outs) that far also.

When there was a problem I could only tell because there was a SLIGHT wobble at high speed and it could be seen at slower speeds.
Sound like it might be an easy fix for you.

It would be an easy fix if BuMmerC has replacement parts for it!
Since the last 2 weeks, I've spoken to a couple of dealers who have contacted BuMmerC but receive no response for an axle. This is so disappointing, I paid almost $500 plus getting it spoked and this BuMmerC company doesn't provide a replacement axle for this motor. I tried calling them and they will only entertain me if I'm a dealer or wanting to become one. I showed it to my cousin, an ASE and certified BMW mechanic, his comment is: "its a simple motor", implying its a piece of cake, not as hard compared to what I do. There is nothing new or revolutionary about their motor. This BuMmerC seems to think its some kind of greatest OS on earth, but skin deep its full of bugs and security holes.

If anyone has a broken/junk 400w/puma motor that I can cannibalize just for the axle, pls pm me. I think it's worth a try, although I'm not 99% sure if they are the same. I'm still waiting for the dealer for a response from BuMmerC regarding the 400w axle.

Buyer beware, when your axle gives out, BuMmerC won't provide a replacement part. When your axle breaks, You are on your own!

I had a similar strange very loud knocking noise almost like someone was hitting the motor with a hammer on clite 408 and the problem turned out to be an intermittent bad connection on the hall sensors this would also explain intermittently no response from throttle or just a grinding sound from the motor.
I know it doesn't sound plausible but worth checking.

I had a machine shop make me a harden steel axle and install for $120 Canadian.
