Hello!

I have installed a Brainpower XLD together with a S866 LCD, bought as a kit.
Geared hubmotor 36v 250w with only a single speed sensor, no hall sensors.
Problem is that the speed shows 99.9 as soon as the motor spins in any direction.
I have removed the motor side cover to verify that the sensor will measure when free wheeling.
I have tested with a multimeter and the speed sensor provides 1 pulse per rotation when spinning the wheel by hand.
I have manually "tapped" a signal but no speed showes up. P07 is set to 1.
Speed sensor is connected to red/white/black in the 6-pin hall connector.

Swedish law requires the bike to stop electric assist at 25kmh so the speedo must be correct.

It's probably a setting I can't figure out but wich?

Attached picture of the exact controller I have. Menu is P1 to P23

It could be that there's something wrong with the speed sensor signal, so the controller defaults to getting the speed signal from the hall sensors or commutation pulses. Try setting p07 to zero, which would be the correct setting for no speed sensor. If that works, you have to find the problem with your speed sensor - probably motor connector not pushed in far enough.
