The BC168 charger is really good for messing about with recycled 18650s because it's effectively 6 single-cell chargers in one box. You can use any combination of the 6 channels at one time, and you can switch channels in and out while charging/discharging.

well, i've got 8 runt cells in use. obviously i've been charging them somehow for 2 months. manual charging with a regulated psu is not hard for me. But, if my $3.50 surplus psu goes bad, i'll either buy a new drill kit or a charger, whichever costs less. It looks like i could buy a new drill with charger for less than the BC168!
dec 13 i charged up 2 more from the 0 volt pile. i thought these were shorted. NOT.
they dropped to 3.86 by feb 2
charged again, lost only .03 in 6 days. (from 4.08 to 4.05)
so that is 10 recovered from 0.
the other 8 are all in use, and NONE have been a disappointment. drill, drivers, lights, all work great.
i would use cells like these in my ebike since my rides are just 1-4 miles. everything is nearby. location is everything!
my dad just went into rehab for a broken hip- it is 6 BLOCKS from my house, will do visits on my ebike for sure.
Next time you fellow ebikers move, find a better location!
i put the last 2 in an old B&D 8.4v drill. Threw away the old nicad pack, the 2 cells fit in the drill.
Weighs 1.75#, so it is much easier to use, smaller, gets in tight spaces.
Tested it out making a mount on my ebike so i can carry a longboard kick scooter. works nice!
so i used the 8.4 drill, the craftsman, and the wen driver to build my 23" wheelbase small scooter that fits in my car; had to cut 9" out of a razor e300. all worked great and only needed 1/4 charge a few times over the 6 weeks.
BUT i never used the 2 skill drivers. too slow and growl due to the 130 rpm.
So today i took one apart and added another cell in series to double the volts! VERY PEPPY now sings instead of growls.
so all the recovered cells work great months later! can't complain about used makita packs!
these are all formerly dead cells in use. were Zero volts, now back to work.
