Broken freehubs anyone?

I am tempted to put a BBS02 750w on my On-One Deedar NX, but I tried my 500w 36v BBS02 on it a few months ago and ended up with a broken pawl inside the freehub (also the weather seal on the hub was a bit squashed, so grime had entered.. No clue how I managed this). Now, I'm not certain that it was the power of the motor that did that brand new hub in, because I removed 3 sprockets and replaced them with spacers to improve an impossible chainline, enabling me to use the 42t in the back, further towards the center of the cassette. Before the modification it ran fine for the first week, but the chainline ate the chainring so that's when I started to experiment(this time around I'll be using a lekkie ring for offset). When I got the new freehub body I went back to the full cassette (11 speed) and kept the bike sans motor. So, I'm interested to know if anyone have had issues with a BBS02 crunching up a freehub. I should add that the hub on the bike is an El Guapo Rattlesnake with 6 pawls. Also, if anyone know some of the most durable freehubs for high torque mid drives, enlighten me; If this one fail I might end up spending my cat food money on a new rear wheel with a different hub.

i've used a low-end shimano hub (alivio level) on 2 different mid-drives, both over 1000w, for a total of about 6,000 km. up the steepest terrain that traction would allow. it's still alive, even with all the torque from a 42t rear cog

ditch that fancy loud hub that kids are into these days. springs/pawls break all the time. cogs dig into the soft aluminum body. not to mention bent axles

I was looking at wheels on eBay, because there isn't a bike shop where I live to lace a hub in for me. There's a bunch of rear wheels with different hubs, but they're all modern and sort of light weight. Hard to know which one would be stronger. I'd like to use the 11 speed SRAM cassette I already have, and shifter. What kind of hub am I looking for?

I'd guess that "low-end shimano hub (alivio level)" *is* the kind that you want to look for. Meaning, Shimano brand, and ones similar to the Alivio series, all the freehub bits made of steel rather than alloy.
