Hit a pothole or something in the road today. Made a short video to show the front wheel rim damage. The best bet is to rebuild the wheel. I'll be taking off the Tannus Tire, spokes and then sending the hub motor over to the bike shop for repairs.

Anybuddy on ES wanna help this guy out? Salvageable?

This video (like some others recently on YT) just comes up black for me, even on the YT page...but if his rim damage is like mine:

then replacing the rim (and any broken spokes) is the only option...but it is easy to do.

The rim has only a small dent that may be corrected and riding for a while, but it is looking like it's been worn out by the rim brakes to the point of no return. Re-lacing the wheel is the right thing to do, using a better rim if one can be found quickly.

That huge crack in my rim started out as a small dent that I "corrected", which invisibly cracked the rim past the dent where the rim's bead wall meets the rest of the rim, and flexing of that as I went over bumps and potholes over the next year(?) made it worse and worse, till you see teh above result.

I don't have any other personal experiences with this type of problem, but I'd bet that if I hadn't tried to correct the dent it would've been perfectly fine and never failed like that. :(
