You know how sites can take an age to load and be full of adverts and pop-ups and even malware, to the point where they are just not worth visiting?
Well this is one of my 'Hobbies' about fixing all that.
1st stop is uBlock Origin:
GitHub - gorhill/uBlock: uBlock Origin - An efficient blocker for Chromium and Firefox. Fast and lean.
Or for most people; download the extension for Google Chrome or Bing here:
uBlock Origin - Chrome Web Store
This, after research and testing, is the most 'light weight' effective, easy to use, well maintained Ad Blocker on Earth.
With 'all ads and BS' not even leaving their servers data use drops and speeds pick up a lot!
Clicking on the icon (top right) brings up an easy to understand, logical menu of choices with lots of options, from simply switching it of for a particular site to options for beginners to more advanced users, with clickable 'WhatTF is this!?' icons.
Best of all: If something is irritating you on a site, simply right clicking on it till you get a red window around the offending bit allows you to easily create a personal rule and 'Poof!' it's gone forever!
All those damn YouTube ads btw: Gone!
(Sometimes Google comes up with a 'counter punch', but withing hours; a restart of your browser and it's fixed)
If you want to further tweak out Youtube's for eg: 'Suggestions' over the ending of the video you're trying to watch and Auto Starting of multiple (Silent Pop Under etc) videos; Enhancer for YouTube:
Enhancer for YouTube™
For more privacy, as in; no more million ads for, for eg: refrigerators because you looked once, I also run:
Privacy Badger
There's more if anyone's interested?
But that covers 90% / The Basics. For free...

Do NB that Google thinks 69ing a rabid skunk daily is preferable to uBlock's existence!
They are actively trying to 'shut them down' on Chrome at least, if not everywhere!
So an alternate browser is a better working, future proof alternative IMHO.
(I use Firefox as comes with the FREE 'Just Wucking Furks!' and faster! Linux Mint., with some tweaks (write caching for one))
