Great news!!!! I've been trying to find Holey trucks but wasn't able to find one at that price!! I'll be purchasing a dual drive kit with a pair of trucks pretty soon but gotta ask few more questions.

I'm planning on running NTM Prop Drive 50-60 270KV / 2400W motors and will this mount on Alien Drive motor mounts? or do i need to drill new holes?

Since i'm going to ship it to US and then ship it again to Korea, can you indicate sale price as $100 USD so that i don't have to pay extras in customs and taxes?

Thank you

Hi
This motor will fit my new motor brackets with slots but the kv is very high and my kit (at the moment) is specifically designed for 170KV motor/15t motor pulley and 30T hub drive and the 265mm belt that comes with the kit..To use a higher KV motor the motor pulley and hub pulley need to be changed.. and then the belt will be the wrong length. My next project is going to us our 50mm 270KV motor and i will be developing a universal Hub drive so you can change the pulley wheel I will then offer the full kit for this.. you could just buy the same 63mm 170KV motors from Bruno that i use and it will work fine then

I can ship to Korea ,please use the US/Canada shipping for this..

I'm so glad that you can ship directly to Korea!! that will save be some money on shipping and taxes

Anyways, the problem is that i've already bought those 270kv motors and all other electronics.
I've done some calculations and it seems that 270kv motor will work fine with 2:1 ratio gears and 90mm Flywheels (Running on 6S battery)
kv/v = 270
voltage = 22.2 (6S)
Motor RPM = 5994
Efficiency = 70% (i've been told it's safe to assume 70% efficiency on the motors when loaded)
Motor RPM = 4196
Wheel RPM (2:1 gear ratio) = 4196 / 2 = 2098
Wheel Circumference = Pi * 90mm = 282.7mm
Which brings max speed to 36km/h (a little slower than expected)

Can you please check these calculations to see if i'm doing this right?

And now, how can i order the new motor brackets that will fit my motors?
do i just leave instructions on the paypal order page?

I also need customs invoice to show $80 so that they don't charge me import taxes.

And it will also be great if you have 15T motor pulley with 8mm bore

Hey man, I have posted a some pic a bit ago, with the same motor being used, Richard is right and this kit has been made to work for the 63mm motor but the motors you have selected are fine if you have already purchased them, as I said I am using those motors, I have also posted some links to 15t pulleys.

Hello Jacob.. I just went back on the thread to look at your postings. Good job on your board! It looks great!

It looks like my setup is going to be very similar to your setup. Can you give a little detail on your electronics? Specially which ESC you are using..

How much speed and acceleration are you getting from those motors? Do you think they are powerful enough?

And I also cannot find your posting regarding 8mm bore pulley

Hi
Sorry I haven't replied I've been a bit busy..
Yes the calcs work for you because your only using 20v not 40v like me..
Yes I can invoice only $80 no problem. I will order a few 8mm pulleys tomorrow and should arrive next week..so if you can wait until then for me to post just buy now and I'll send when the pulleys arrive.. They should be the same price..
I pick up my new motor brackets tomorrow so all kits will have them..do you want the small or large bracket.?
The small bracket will do motor with a hole distance between 19-32mm and the large 28mm-43mm.
Just put a comment on the PayPal box or email me your requirements.

^^
How much would the 8mm pulley cost? Maybe I can just find one locally... its 5M HTD pulley right?

Since i'm going to be using NTM Prop Drive 50-60 270KV motor with 30mm mounts... which bracket would you recommend? I think i've seen Jacobs post that the motor did not line up perfectly with the large bracket? Has this been fixed yet?

I will go ahead and make put in the order for dual drive set with holey trucks today. Please send me correct brackets for diagonal front and rear drive same as Jacob's setup.
Thanks!! I'm so excited to finally get my board built

The bracket holes don't line up, that's all, every thing els is fine! But with the new bracket you won't have a problem

Hi
Yes you may be able to get the pulleys locally- but i have just ordered some 8mm bore pulleys and they will arrive early next week.. the will be the same price as 10mm.
and the new brackets will fit that motor..in fact the new small bracket will fit the 30mm perfectly...

Hey Beetbocks, I have just placed the order on Alien drive systems.
I will purchase the motor pulley locally. Please let me know when it ships and the tracking number if you have one.

Once my setup succeeds I think there's gonna be a lot of people around me who will be interested in your kit

Thanks!!

Weirdly enough I saw the Boosted Boards TED talk and finally arrived here after deciding to make my own board. Just as a matter of interest do you think if you got a longer truck you could mount both motors to the back? Also where did you get your batteries and charger from??? I've also watch a guy make his own long board from carbon fiber and the 40'' deck weighed 2.8 lbs, thta's just something I'm doing with my board build. You're AWESOME i am so glad you did this! It looks amazing!!

Hi min
Thanks for the order. I have ordered the trucks and they should arrive early next week I will then ship straight out to you..
Thanks
Richard
Hi dock
I have actually already designed and prototyped a opposite hand truck mount.. I'm just waiting on some smaller, shorter motors to arrive to test the rear wheel drive. Personally I like the diagonal drive for weight distribution.
I saw the same guy build the carbon deck on 'project junkies' that's exactly what I would want.i am considering trying something like that myself. :D

1. What's the full specs for this build and do you have a build kit for it already setup? Is it's what is listed on here: http://www.aliendrivesystems.com/index.html
2. Do you also sell the remote with it and is there a full instructional detail on how to set everything up with ease?
3. Where do we get the charger for it? Is it easy to charge?
4. Do you sell the battery pack as well?
5. Can we increase the "miles" range?
6. What's the difference between 1 and/or 2 motors? Increased pulling power, speed?

I'm definitely interested in building one with the least amount of knowledge possible, I'm looking for a quicker way to commute to work and have a little bit of fun at the same time. Going up hills is definitely a strong point.

Hi, I see that this is the current battery that you're using. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__16227__ZIPPY_Flightmax_8000mAh_5S1P_30C.html

Can I buy two of those and wire them in parallel and make them 16000 mAh, 10s, and 30c to double the distance?

If you put them in parrallel it would only be 5s meaning you've still got the same voltage. However, yes, it would give you (theoretically) twice the distance

Edit - also, it'd be 30c, yes, meaning max current draw of 480A (twice the max draw of one battery)

Ok, thanks! So that kinda takes care of the distance problem. I could just go parallel to solve distance issues.
Couldn't you also just swap out the battery once it runs out with a fully charged battery? Sorry, I'm going to have a lot of questions, I'm new to RC.

And those 480 amps are going to have to go somewhere but the highest amp rating I can find for a 10s ESC is 160 constant, 180 burst. I'm guessing that ESCs can't just throttle that right? So would I need a 480 amp ESC... I really hope there's someway to control those amps like just swapping out batteries.

Hi Matraix
I use 2 batteries at the moment wired in series to give 40V and 5s as this is the recommended set up for the motor i use.
Please contact Bruno at Alien Power Systems- we sell an ESC that will handle the power easily.
brunotollot@virgilio.it

Theoretically you could just swap the batteries out-yes .but it means carrying them etc..

Bluemc.
all the info you need is on my website and found in the previous posts, the build will require some mechanical skill but there are help videos and exploded drawings on the website also.

That 480A is max draw. The controller pulls whatever it needs from the battery. A 160A controller means the batteries will only ever put out 160A. Also, you can definitely bring spare batteries and swap them out.

Which motor is better?

63mm 3kw that bruno offers?
Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 6364-245kv Brushless Outrunner Motor
NTM Prop Drive 50-60 270KV

Hi guys i almost finished mine and i wanted to know what do you use to fix everything on the board ?
I currently use velcro and duct tape but i feel like it is not the best solution :)
Im looking for something that doesn't require to drill the board.

Im running a 10s single motor setup and throw myself on the ground in first 10 minutes of testing :D
Lets hope i can post you some picture before i end up at the hospital...

The motor from Bruno is 170kv which is what the hub drive, motor pulley and 83mm wheel are all designed around.
Ttw- I have drilled some steel m4 threaded inerts into my deck. You might not want to drill into the deck but its the oy save way. The insert don't go all the way through .check my thread there's photos if my battery box. Also if all goes well . I will be producing some ABS blank battery boxes..
