Well here is is. There's two camps, one is "why, I have never needed it I torque mine down tight enough", and the other, "My motor drops I need a solution."

There have been a half dozen reports of banged up downtubes, and several frustrated n00b builders, as well as some odd fits on Pedicabs that will benefit.

Sorry, I just got it yesterday and didn't have time to work on the build and to neaten up the photo. Then I'm not selling anything, just sharing the find!

california eBikes, the inventor of the 100MM BBS kit produced another great product.

Neat idea. This removes the necessity to torque down the lockring to the point that the serrated mount is eating the frame. Looks like it could also be installed with a hose clamp or similar strap rather than bolt to the frame, nice 8)

Cool. Will have to get some of those from Doug.

It's great to see a good idea, realised like this. It takes a certain something, to come up with a simple and useful product, that seems quite obvious when you see it done, and yet be the 1st to do it :)

Nice to see some genuine innovation, from a hard working guy, that just gets on with it, from his small place in Benicia, near SF. Doug not only designs and supplies various parts the BBS kits, he also suppiles kits at competitive prices and personally repairs loads of BBS kits too.

The stabilizers are well made and perfect for those who have problems with movement.

Two versions, one for standard frame and one for full suspension frames.

I am not selling these, posting as a successful user!

Forgive the BUMP on such an old post but...
This is a GREAT solution, BUT I do have one complaint I'll preface with a few questions...

To whom it may concern @ https://california-ebike.com/
1. WHY Would you allow the motor to hang SO LOW!?!?
2. Why not position the motor close to if not against the frame so it's higher up and not a drag/clearance issue?
3. Do you or will you create a bracket that accommodates the motor being against or close to (within a few mm) of the frame?

My motor is always pressing against the lower front portion of the frame as the wires and motor itself would constantly be hitting and dragging on things with this bracket IE the way it mounts the motor away from the frame in a downward position.

Obviously my complaint is this version of the bracket is useless to me or anyone else that prefers a similar installation.
To clarify I'm not here to be negative or hate, I really think this product is GREAT and WELL-NEEDED in the Bafang community
I just think it needs a revision or at least a choice of both bracket mounting positions etc.

Cheers.

The bracket is at a perfect height on many frames. But trying to manufacture and design for additional frame geometry just isn't in the cards. It's a shame they don't address your issue, but that said I now support them and sell them and never have used one. My 3 properly torqued BBSHD fixing plate and lock rings with Blue Loctite haven't ever needed a stabilizer. As always YMMV!
