CA3 to Phaserunner Mainwire

I am trying to keep my wiring clean and eliminate any wires that I can on my CA3. Instead of running the display cable, PAS cable and the temperature cable to the bikes midsection. I would like to run a single through frame wire. I was planning on 6 wires for the display, 1 for PAS, 1 temp. Then I would use the +/- from the phaserunner for temp/PAS.

As simple as it seems I cannot seem to locate a 8 conductor 24 gauge wire in black. Does anyone have a source for similar type wire. Is there an easier way to achieve what I'm trying to do? I can't find any post with similar questions. Thank you for any guidance.

Since the majority of the wire is hidden in-frame, the main color of the cable doesn't matter. You can use black heatshrink or sleeving to cover the short lengths that will be exposed.

Alternately, you can repurpose other cables you may be able to find locally, at thrift stores and the like (possibly still available cheaply online, if you have to, but then you might as well buy new cable on a roll or by the foot). They are not always black, but often are dark gray.

--Old serial cables for 9-pin serial, that actually have all the signals, will have enough conductors.

--Serial cables for 25-pin are often more likely to have all the signals, but they're harder to find.

--Parallel (printer) cables will have more than enough conductors, but may not be as long as the serial cables are often found in.
--Firewire cables should have enough conductors, including the separate shield grounds (you'll need to insulate them from each other where they come out, so the shields don't touch).

--Network (LAN) Ethernet cables have enough conductors, but are often solid (not stranded) wire, making them more vulnerable to vibration failures at connection points, requiring strain relief, etc .

Those are just a few of the possible sources of multiconductor cables that are laying around unused for recycling....

If those are undesirable, you could try online (this search uses your exact phrase):
https://www.google.com/search?q=8+conductor+24+gauge+wire+in+black
whose first hit is here:
https://www.mouser.com/Wire-Cable/Multi-Conductor-Paired-Cables/Multi-Conductor-Cables/_/N-9ms9i?P=1ytitytZ1yyf3fu
though you might have to buy a several-hundred-foot roll, which tends to be expensive. ;)

Actually, most network patch cables are stranded for the reasons you cited. Solid core twisted pair cable is used for runs between the wall jacks and patch panels. You can buy 4 pair (8 conductor) stranded twisted pair cable by the spool. CAT 5e is typically 24 gauge. I think CAT 6 23 AWG and has more twists per inch than CAT 5E.

Ah. All the stuff I have here is solid, but I think I made all of them over the years from old sections of other cable runs, and the typical connector tool/etc. Don't remember anymore.

I used these for my build.
