can I just one ping battery?

I purchased the 60V 20AH V2.5 LiFePO4 Battery Pack from ping a while back it is split in 2. I was just wondering if I can just use one of the batteries on my bike to make short trips to save the weight and not worry about someone stealing both the batteries. Could I just unattach the wires and just use the one or would that damage the battery? I could plug the other one back in to charge.

Have you checked the voltage? My guess is that it's two 30V batteries connected in series.

Ill have to check the voltage from just one battery later.
