I have two Luna Dolphin 56V packs for my bbshd. What device would reduce the output of these batteries to 24V to run an Prodeco with 24V hub motor? What problems might I run into? Thanks!

You could use a DC-DC converter, but it would be pretty heavy at the size you need to run a motor. Also you lose a fair bit of efficiency, most of those converters are around 90% efficient afaik.

How many amps are you needing to output at 24V?

just do it... the motor is the dumb end of the system - (as long as the controller isn't inside it!)... the more volts you feed them the faster they go.

This device is referred to as a "wrist".

Motors don't really have voltage limits; what you need to worry about is continuous power. I'd guess a "24 V" motor is designed for pretty low power - maybe in the 250 W range. So monitor your power with a Cycle Analyst or a cheap RC power meter and try not to exceed 250 W for significant lengths of time.

I used a cheap Chinese 48v 1000w Sunwin Controller from eBay on my 60v 16ah battery. The motor is a QS205. Using a controller that pulls less volts from the battery should be perfectly fine.
