Can you unlace standard wheel and relace with new motor?

I was wondering if it was possible to unlace a standard rear-wheel and then relace it with thicker spokes and a motor? assuming that the rim is already double walled?

The reason I want to do this is because the rim has a proprietary color with the bicycle.

Thanks

That bike has 32 spokes, so the answer is no, except that you can get some small motors with 32 spokes. BMSBattery had some, but it shows no stock now.

I'v got a feeling that Keyde might do there's in 32 holes.

oh wow, thanks for counting. I figured all bike rims were 36 holes. Didn't know it was 32. Now I have no choice but to go mid-drive for my girlfriend. I wanted to keep the rim color for her.

If you want to convert to middrive on that bike, you are likely gonna loose the low stepthrough. How much power does she need?

I wouldn't make the bike to powerful or heavy either because you only have linear pull brakes. There are many bikes on the market that are more easily convertable unless your into fabrication.

wait, what do you mean that I would lose the low stepthrough? I do intend to put some kind of battery there, yes.

She needs uphill power, but she doesn't need to go any faster than 13-14mph.
