If it measures volt drop for its operation
there might be a reason like needing a larger pulse current for resolution or something hmm

I completely agree.

I was thinking about modding it for a higher-amp pulse but realized that it was designed for R/C LiPo packs and those cells typically have very, very low IR (under 5mOhm). Then I realized that a pulse of 16A is actually pretty good. Assuming 10mOhm IR for a cell, that's a 160mV drop...pretty easy to measure. IMHO that is.

Yeh im hoping to use them on my 20ah a123 pouch @ ball park 2 mohm per cell, 30mV per cell could probably be good.
Bigger cells with that ultra low ESR. My Zippy 8Ah packs i expect have a similar extra low IR,
so thinking a good resolution would be primary, is it 12 bit or more kind of accuracy do you know

Im probably just wasting time not having one.
Had a closer look at specs and talking down to around 40uohm, nice.
Must have vgood accuracy if they are claiming that, plunge time

It checks AC internal resistance, which may or may not be a good thing.
Only 2A or 4A pulse though and no accuracy spec to see if that low a current pulse allows for an accurate IR reading.

Even if it's 20% off (accuracy), that's wouldn't be bad for a $16 meter though.

That is a great find and perhaps a better value than my Hyperion 1410 that I bought. How do you know it is accurate?

I havnt purchased any of those so don't know sorry my post could have been vague.
I think they are mainly made for the heli rc blokes and the feedback for IR was dismal.

Do you a manual, does it spec how it does the IR?
The first IR's displayed in the video were 1.0 & 1.5, that's quite a difference?
Accuracy there might be questionable.
The voltages were shown to 3 decimal nice if accurate.
In the reviews mentioned could do 500W.
Could be good for an all round portable solution.
Wonder if they have higher power versions.

Sorry, I'm just using it as a bulk charger with one HP DS600 power supply....


...while I repair my Hyperion 1420i and for that, I like it a lot. But I don't know about the reviewer who said he was able to charge @ 500 Watts.
Even with the input power set to 500 Watts and the one PS feeding it 12.65V, the best I see is 300 Watts on a 12S pack[6A X 50V].
The little I have used it as a balance charger, well, it's no Hyperion. The cell volt figures differ from my Cellog 8[which match the Hyperion]by about 10%. But they seem accurate across the board, relative to each other and I guess that's what is important.
When I get a chance, I'll play around with some of it's features.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a noob like me, with one server PS, a person can be charging 12S without breaking them down for less than $125 total.
For what you guys are looking for, I'm not sure.
