I just still wonder.. WHY he still use 2 wire measurement instead of 4 (sensing and current seperated)
I found 3 additionnal RI meter: the RIM1000 (0.1miliohm resolution) 99$ usd

hy doc,
i know why he is using only 2 wires:
he measures only 0.5 ohm and 1 ohm!!!
maybe for measuring resistance of cells for pairing it, thats ok but if you want to know the Ri of the cells absolute i don't think that this is ok.
with the rim 1000 the current goes up to 12A!!
i use the rim1000 with 4 wire setup and this works ok

Cell resistance minimum: 4 milliohms.
Cell resistance precision: +/- 2 milliohms.
Doctorbass said:You said you have the RIM1000??![]()
have you any pics that show the botton pad on it with english translation?
I contacted Conrad and they dont sale it to Canada.
only ELV.com confirmed me that they can sale it.. it's like 160usd equivalent from euro and shipping...
can you do a favor for me?
to post a video of a measurement with it... i want to see how fast and how the reading display work...
do you know if the pulse current they say is a 1000hz pulse?.. like any other Ri meter...
or is it just a single pulse?
thanks

Alex,
Thanks for these precious infos!!
I think this device is the one i need!
Do you know if it pulsate at 1000hz?
Are you living in Europe? (does anyone here live in Europe and have acces to Conrad store?)
I would appreciate if someone would accept to buy one for me and to ship it to Canada I can send money in advance for that including shipping, the Ri meter and for the help you provide me. I need one!
German RI device seems enough accruate for me instead of chinese device.

deVries said:Doc, can you recommend a better low priced RI meter than these? What is your choice for low cost now???
Thanks.![]()
I'm not the expert Doc is on these things but Wayne Giles has designed a very nice IR meter which has worked well for than one person I personally know.deVries said:Doc, can you recommend a better low priced RI meter than these? What is your choice for low cost now???

No, any chemistry up to, IIRC, 5V/cell at less than 250mOhms for the pack ESR (forgot the cell ESR max). It was labeled as a LiPo ESR meter because of the big debates at the RCGroups forum over the ESR of different LiPo cells that prompted Wayne to design the meter.999zip999 said:Is this just for lipo ?
