Dear electric longboarders,

I have found a guy who is selling two nice GensAce 10S 5300mAh batteries.
That would fit well my requirements for my next setup.

BUT ... one has a very long shape (50cm*4*5) and this other is more bulky (25*4*10).
BAsically, in the bulky one, all elements are in a single pile and in the long one, they are in two piles.
I would like to repack them to have both at the same size.

It looks like it would be easier to modify the bulky one on the left side, right ?
Maybe just split it in two parts (the fat cable between the two parts is already accessible).
Is this possible ? Complicated ? risky ?

It's definetly possible and as long as your safe and know what your doing.
I've rebuilt a few packs to fit better under my boards, the tabs on the actual cell is a bit tricky to solder wire to. But if you use lead solder and flux it should be fine.

Be sure to use some thick wire between the cells your separating to reduce the risk of voltage drop at high current.

It is possible.

But it could also fail in a catastrophic way.

Consider it an experiment as you Might end up with some unusable pouches.

Be cautious and remove flamable material away from work area.

Looking at the picture, I have the impression that I would not have to solder anything.
If I just split the left battery in half, I could fold it to a "long version" without having to rewire anything.
The battery already look like two parts (6S+6S) wired together with that thick cable between the elements.
