cheaper thermal imager

E4 looks great, but the cheap Fluke seems rather useless. Very low thermal resolution. Might as well just use an IR thermometer for that stuff (which, unsurprisingly is how they even have it labeled)

How cheap does the E4 end up going for?

That video starts at 10 mins in. Before that they are not turned on.

A lot of hobbyists would be happy just pulling the ir filter from an old digital camera. You could even fit a cold mirror.
Here is my phone that has not been modded.

See how the ir overloads the camera even with the filter in place. It is my nokia 6230i.

Yeah, that's friken cool, did not even think of that,

I really need to see the temperature difference and like a bar graph so I can get a good idea, I think a thermal image gun is the only way.
I would like to get as many features as I can, If possible video with data,
The more I think about a thermal imager the more things I can think of using it for.

I am keen for a group buy, I would settle for the fluke for what I need it for, But prefer the Flir e4.

Edit, In aliexpress, I believe they are clones, You can get a group buy for 20 pieces, they will cost around $1000 each.
buying the flir e4 from a regular retailer will cost like $2500
