City Coco or Fat tire Scooter Upgrade Help

Hello, was wondering if anyone had any experience in upgrading a City Coco Harley fat tire scooter? Currently mine goes 20mph limited. I feel like it has more to give but governed or was limited by the batteries. Cool but just too slow when my Ezip 750's and and mongoose FS fly by at 25mph. So I chucked the 4 12V SLA's and modified the battery try and installed a 60V 24ah battery from a BMW electric car. The controller did not like this I'm guessing as it made a strange noise and the tire barely spins. I ordered a 60V 1500W 48a controller to replace the 48V 1000W 28A controller. Will this setup get me to 25mph+? Or am I wasting my time and is the speed limited in the hub motor?

Any ideas, tips or mods would be appreciated. Can't find much online about this. Thanks.

Yes. I just upgraded mine to 72V with a 2000w hub motor and 2000w controller and it does 35mph on flat roads. Will post details shortly.

Thanks, any help would be appreciated. I am really struggling with this build as I can't find a controller that fits. I ordered one and it is too big. I can't get it to fit with the massive battery and BMS. I ordered a second controller that was supposed to be a little over 7" long which I need no bigger then 7 1/2" but it turned out to be over 8. Same as the first one I bought. I plan on keeping the original hub motor so my question is this. Will using a 48V 1800W 32A controller work the way I want on 60V? The old controller was 48V 1000W 28A but did not 60V.

Yes I have the red city coco chopper e bike and it only went 22 mph it was a joke then I unhooked the two wires connected by the handlebars u can't miss it sooooo easy.....then get on bike and it's almost to 40 mph big smile big difference.....

You should really start your own thread if you want to discuss your situation.

(I've never seen or heard of an 18650 swelling. Pouch cells sure, but not 18650s. Pictures would be nice.)
