While I was charging my 36V LiFePO battery, there was a burning smell coming from my e-bike which turned out to be the BMS.The manufacturer has scratched off the markings on several components. I have indicated which one was very hot. Can anybody shed some light on what this might be? All five large semiconductors have there middle leg cut off and the one in question isn't paralleled together like the other four.

MOSFETS - The middle leg is electrically connected to the tab, which is soldered to the board.

Replacing them with something a bit more robust should help you out.

what is the voltage on the gate of that mosfet. that is the mosfet that allows current to the battery during charging, the others handle the output from the battery. measure the voltage between the left leg and the tab, or ground in this case.
