Connecting up a Ping battery...

I just got my Ping battery, plus two chargers (I ordered an extra one). The battery has three leads -

Positive (red)
Negative Discharge (black)
Negative Charge (green?)

And the chargers have three prongs - +, -, ground.

Now, I know how to hook this up to my Crystalyte motor (red to red, black to black), but I'm a bit unsure which way to hook it up to the charger. I have a multimeter, but I'm a bit afraid of mixing up +/-, and don't know how to test for the proper polarity on the charger end.

The output of the charger is a standard 3-prong cord, like the kind that goes to computer power supplies. I know I need to connect the red and green wires to the charger... but how do I determine which connection is the correct one?

I think I need to push the black lead into one end of the charging cable, push the red lead into the other - if it reads 42, I've chosen correctly (correct?). And then, do I hook red to red / black to green? Or do I hook red to green, red to black?

(yes, this is a stupid newbie question. But I don't want to damage the pack, even if it has diodes that will protect it.)

The + from the charger attaches to the + of the battery (red to red), and the - from the charger attaches to the green BMS - (negative charge). Your test to determine which of the chargers leads is + and which is - should work ok. One of the prongs on the charger is a dummy and not used. Most of us just cut this connector off and work directly with the two wires from the charger and then add the connector of our choice.
