Hello,

I want to take the controller and Full Twist Throttle in the VECTRIX‏ and put it in my e-motocycle.

the system on my bike is working on 48V.
Can I do a step up from 48 to 130V?

Best regards,

Vectrix controller uses an optical quadrature sine/cosine encoder, and has differential hall tracks.

Not sure what will happen with hall only being used (even if you made them differential) - it uses the A/B track to determine rotation direction, and later takes over from the hall sensors (makes a timing map).

The LVC on a vectrix controller - old version is 102V, newer versions of the firmware are 120V. Throttle is not direct to controller either, from memory it goes through the BCM (body control module).

In short - its a nightmare to re-use!

Hi,

How hard would it be to use the controller if he used the Vectrix motor, either as a mid-drive, or as a hub motor?

It would be a lot easier - the encoder would function correctly. There is still the issue of the voltage required to spin one of these up too.

Motor is rated for 15kW continuous, and 20Kw peaks - I regularly hit this on acceleration (200A@102V) - There is substantial heft in the rear swingarm (I have one off the bike at the moment) - the motor is actually integrated into the swingarm, so mid drive wouldn't be practical. With the right (read very low IR) batteries - the IGBT will max out at a programmed 275A battery side - a decent cell (Like the leaf batteries I am installing) will allow 275A @ ~135V = 37Kw (eek!)

If I was doing it again, the controller needs a much heftier IGBT array - there is a 450A version PMCLA450 IIRC that could replace the 300A version (off-the-line acceleration is limited by the 300A of phase current) - Fitting the 450A version and scaling the output from the current sensors would allow 50%-75% more power (there is someone who has tweaked the current sensors already to push all the way to 300A - I'm not sure this is a very nice thing to do to the stock IGBT's).

Hello all!

1. I'm looking for a controller and Throttle like in the VECTRIX‏ for Brushless motor.

2. Is there a way to a step up from 48V to 130V?

Best regards,
guy w.
