I tried to search the forums but I am easily distracted by other ideas.I would like better performance. This bike only has 2000 miles but it's under powered.I was thinking replace controller and display and 48 volt battery for better performance using the factory hub motor.

In a single word the answer is yes. Most motors can handle way above recommended ratings...so long as you don't take too many liberties.I have run an old 24V motor @ 48V for donkeys years no bother.

In my experience, a 36V ebike is around 20% faster on 48V, Being that it's a commercial bike with the 20 mph speed limit, you'll probably have to swap to a non Neo controller.

How will you get 48V? Nice looking bike, even though it's almost 10 years old. It would be nice to use the same battery case, as opposed to hanging external battery packs on the frame or rear rack.

I have a couple of 48 volt batteries that I use to parallel when needed. The factory battery died.I used the base for the factory battery to mount a Hailing style and have a parallel battery on the rear rack.It is a very nice bike but very heavy.

Did you keep the Amps the same? Most 36 volt controller is 17 Amps max 8 Amps continuous.I should keep the same 17 Amps max?

Replaced the old (15 years!) 24V/10A controller with a morden 24/36/48V/10A jobie. And of course the battery - a used 48V/20Ah which had a faulty BMS. ...As I said earlier, eaassy on the throttle!!

Ooops!.....Replaced the old (15 years!) 24V/10A controller with a morden 24/36/48V/12A jobie and of course the 48V battery. This was used 20Ah with a faulty BMS...I have to go easy on the throttle most of the time it's that potent!

My Neo cross 250w had 36 volt 20a controller orginal.Dont remember the controller I used. Can the orginal take 48volt ?.Anyway big difference in speed and power at 48 volt 20a.About 30% increase.

I hooked up a wattmeter& max is 17Amp.I was planning to replace the controller and display with new to make sure they worked together.I believe 2016 BH switched to 48 volt.Everyone wants more power/speed 🙋

They probably changed the controller with the new type of motor.I belive the earliest had a bafang 250w cst motor, mine had Dapu m155 motor.Screw on motor cover.Very good low end torque. The latest have another type of motor with a bolt on motor cover.Looks like a Bafang swx02 motor or copy.I also had an ebike kit from Woosh with the Swx02 motor which run fine on 48volt 18 amp if thats what you got.

I believe it is the Dapu but I don't know.I have a Evo Jet and it is fine with 36 volt. The Neo Jumper is very heavy and I have 15 lbs of battery.I pedal vigorously but the motor is enigmatic for hills

looks like the newest motor also is Dapu

Ser ut som den nyeste motoren også er Dapu
When that happens it will get a 2kw replacement wheel 😀

Ok,maybe mid drive then. The Mxus gdr/xfc 19 is faster at steep mountain roads here in Norway than my Bafang bbshd and ultra. But will overheat if the hills are to long
