I have a cracked magnet in my hub motor as seen in the picture below. It is definitely cracked in one place, I am not sure if that little piece is also cracked in two.
Does anyone know for sure how this will affect motor operation? Will I lose any power or will it cause any extra heat?
The reason I ask is because I need to reglue all my magnets and it may prove difficult to find a replacement magnet. I am thinking about epoxying this magnet down.
I have another question if any motor experts read this thread. If the magnets are not epoxied down, will they pull off the motor case during operation? I know they can all turn around in the motor, but will they also pull off the motor case and rub on the stator? Reason I ask is because if this is not possible, then I will not epoxy that magnet down until I get a replacement.
Thanks
