Not a problem to solve, just info for those with this type of issue. Included are pics of the problem, and links to potential replacement parts.

Fixed for a friend, the scooter was giving error 008 on the LCD; the throttle would mechanically stick someitmes, and before this failure would have kicks and jerks instead of smooth motor operation.

I figured that either one of the wires (ground, probably) was broken or the magnet(s) came loose; turned out to be the latter.

The plastic rail portion of the grip that holds the magnet had broken off from the grip tube and the magnet was off of it and laying in the bottom of the throttle body. I glued the magnet back onto the rail, but the glue would not stick to the cracked areas, as the htrottle had some factory grease in it that had wicked onto those. So I used the tip of a soldering iron to melt them together, reassembled the throttle, and voila! it now works. ;)

It's a temporary fix, most likely.

The throttle itself is part of a display unit that comes up as the "805 LCD" when i do image searches for it. There are some avaialble for as cheap as three bucks inlcuding the customs/duties/shipping from aliexpress, or as much as fifty bucks on amazon, ebay, etc.

There are numerous half-grip twist throttles that do the same job minus the display, and since the display works fine, a separate throttle could be used instead, if the LCD and brake lever are moved leftward enough to allow the throttle to clear them, and the whole grip plastics are removed from the LCD unit. Best option is to connectorize the new throttle to make it easy to re-replace if it gets broken again, using one of those Higo throttle extensions.

BTW, it is possilbe that the lcd itself won't be compatible if it has different firmware, or protocol, or whatever, but all that's really needed for this fix is the throttle bits so those can be swapped out. Assuming it is compatible, then because wire colors can be different I'd just use all the original wiring and just change the display/throttle unit and solder the original wires to the new display/throttle.

I dunno if this one is what it says it is for only three bucks, but it's three bucks, including shipping and customs/taxes.

this one costs a lot more at about 20 bucks but is "the same thing" if the first one isn't real

This one from amazon is way way more at more than 50 bucks and is the same thing

i'm sure there's other ones out there, under "805 LCD Throttle" or similar descriptions, that look exactly the same.

Some of the many halftwist throttles that can be made to work but cost mroe than the first two options above. For this option I'd run wires out of the original lcd to the new throttle unit.
