Hello sphereite's.

I am working on a custom, Mobile cart to hold 36 laptop computers & their charging units.

My problem, all chargers all chained together will draw in excess of 50 amps...I need to separate the chargers into 4 groupings & have an automated unit to switch 120vac between the 4 circuits.
A competitor has a unit that continually switches in a circle every 3 minutes...

My Google fu is letting me down this week. I can't seem to find an on the shelf solution.
Anyone know of a plug & play solution that has UL listings on it (its going into a public school)

I could juke one together with a lawn sprinkler timer & a few relay's...but the UL certificate is going to be required for this app.

thanks in advance.

I don't know of one, though it's probable one exists.

Regular outlet "lamp timers" could be used--the type with all the little pegs around the outside, and you could just set every other one to be on, so it just switches on and off every few minutes (it's probably every 15 minutes for most, some might be every 10). THese, individually, do have UL certificates.

YOu'd need to either have a number of them, or find ones rated for the current the system could draw at turn-on. (which may be higher than when steady-on).

GOT IT.

These guys sell a smart/gangable set up that does exactly what we need.
senses current on the draw side & shuts down a few outputs to keep inside a 15A draw....then turns them all on as the current drops on the top of the charge cycle.

thanks for looking.
