Joe Rogan has done EIGHT podcasts with Dr. Rhonda Patrick. She recently had a baby, and her being a scientist one would think she'd go crazy, diet, plastics, toxins. She mentions BPA leeching out of plastics. I was having a drink at a fast food restaurant today, and that came to mind. I also use the plastic water bottles. Only for cold drinks, never anything hot or warm.

A little quick search....

mostly plastic liner, PLA liner, or wax lining (only in cold cups). Another company uses sugar cane bagasse, and using this process extraction material for paper products as opposed to burning it for fuel is a better use. Enough babbling, here’s what I found:

I think the best alternative for me is to buy a recognizable brand name aluminum/stainless steel water bottle. But one that has no color. This one fella uses one, and the color is all removed from where his lips would go.

*When I read that I am like I have a lot of tupperware, I should check. Avoid PC and #7
To be safe, avoid #7 plastic. Choose plastics labeled #1, #2, or #5 in the recycling triangle, but do not heat beverages or food in plastic containers of any kind.
Shit, I do that all the time. Onto the plate to microwave.

Hmmmm. I don't want to die from too much plastic in my blood.

But I also hate washing dishes.

Gonna have to think on this one.....

As for a drinking vessel though, I drink mostly from a stainless steel starbucks cup, unpainted. My "desk" coffee cup is a 16oz pyrex measuring cup.

Not because it's not poisonous, but because it seems to be nearly indestructible.

64oz Swig Savvy (stainless steel vacuum bottle) with the external insulation cover. Keeps hot stuff hot several hours, and cold stuff cold almost a full day if I start with 10-12 ice cubes out of the deep freeze.

Except for the lid, of which I've broken two, it's survived something like three years or more of my abuse, every day, all day, for most of what I drink.

I recently switched from a 64oz Aladdin sippy cup from Piggly’s BBQ (identical to the one at 7 eleven except for color and graphics) to a smaller Thermos BPA free water bottle with a flip top stopper. It easily can attach to a belt for hands free carrying when working or in a water bottle cage whereas the big Aladdin is better on the nightstand next to the bed.

I drink about 90% of my stuff from stainless steel vacuum bottles / jars. I used to use a similar kind of big tumbler until I started commuting via e-bike. The main reason I use these is they keep stuff cold in the AZ heat. That they are probably relatively low toxicity is a nice bonus but not the reason. I favor the wide mouth bottles cuz it is easier to get ice in 'em.

I do about 90% of my nuking with pyrex glass, a corning plate, or a ceramic bowl.
