I recently crashed my bike, I wasn't going too fast when I dumped it so luckily I'm fine and the bike handled it pretty well. However, now when I turn on my CA3, the display illumintates, but no text is displaying. There was very very slight damage to the red power wire coming out of the CA3, but it's really just a tiny bit of exposed wire from the insulation being rubbed off. I opened up the CA3 and everything basically looks fine inside, so I'm not sure where the problem is the CA3 or something else. All connectors seem to be intact.

Has anyone run into this before?

Update: When I uplug the CA3, unplug the halls, and connect my throttle directly to the controller it runs, so my best guess is I busted the CA3, or the hall connections somewhere.

If it's a DP version of the CA, then the speedo runs off one of the halls in the motor. If the motor wires were damaged in the crash, and the hall that's used for the speedo shorted to a phase wire, it would put phase voltage directly into the CA and coudl have blown up the MCU.

Essentially this is what killed my original CAv3 a few years ago, though it was a different cause. On mine, the wires out of the external shunt from the speed sensor were damaged (age, vibration, bending, dunno exactly) and the insulation failed on at least the batt+ power wire to teh CA, and the speedo input wire to the CA from the hall wire on the motor. When they shorted, it killed the CA *and* the hall in the motor.

Update: my new CA3 arrived and worked fine when plugged in, so appears I damaged mine. Bummer.
