I transfered everything from the MTB to the Day 6 semi-recumbent.

What is different is that you never have your toes pointing downward and you can`l lean and pedal in sharp turns.

It feels much lighter than the MTB,

Notice that there are no shifters, I can manually change to the middle chainring cog keeping the rear on the smallest gear.

I am going very gentle on the throttle untilI get a torque arm installed. (Aluminum dropouts in the rear)

I used that same kickstand on my fatbike and it kept rotating on the frame and bike would be on the ground the next morning. I extended it so it clamped to both the upper/lower tubes. Stopped the rotation, I felt smart, til it snapped in half.

Is the Day6 ride a comfortable one?

Due to the Day 6 extra 10" length, the cushy seat and back, and the 35 psi 2.125" tires, the bike is as smooth or smoother than my shock forks and rear suspension bikes.

It is a little strange to ride in comparison to the usual geometry.

For example, a 180* turn at slow speed is very stable and there is no tendency to correct during the turn.

I bought the bike at a pawn shop for $200. Both shifters were bad and I simply removed them.

I wish that I could transfer the original Day 6 rear 11 tooth high gear cogs fo the hub motor 13 toother for higher speed PA.

Unfortunately, one is a freewheel and the other is a cluster.

How can I get a higher gear onto the hub notor?

BTW I am thinking of using a wrench as a torque arm.

This is my Day 6 Dream semi-rcumbent bike. Low CG and very stable.

Currently using four Walmart Booster 12V Lipo batteries in series.

It needs higher gearing to pedal assist over 17 MPH.

It can go 30 MPH.

This is by far the best bike that I have ever owned.

I was very lucky to find it in a pawnshop for $200.

FYI http://www.day6bikes.com/ I have no business connection with Day 6 bikes.

Unfortunately, a loud bearing type noise appeared at the end of the video. I will have to get inside the motor to determine the cause.

I wonder if there was some way to add a suspension seat-post, like a Thudbuster or Suntour NCX. I like these from a practical point of view, but...the style is something that doesn't appeal to most people. I would not hesitate to buy one of these for $200 if it was in good condition...

It rides very smooth as is with 2.125" tires at 35 PSI, the thick cushion seat and back support, and the long wheelase.

Interesting conversion. Looks to be a comfortable , relaxed ride.
But you are not the first to do a hub conversion on one...or mid drive.!

My claim was the first rear hub conversion.
I did not see a rear hub motor in any of the links above.

At first i dismissed this as just another beach cruiser type bike, but the more i look the more i see the advantages for general Ebike riding in comfort.
It apears to be a unique design.
Unfortunately not available in Ozzieland !
The nearest i can find here are cruisers and faux choppers !
