DC-4S charger--leaving it plugged in to 2x 4S (8S) batteries

OK so I have the DC-4S, it plugs into the balance connector and NOT the main leads. It acts as a charge monitor when not powered by a power supply.

When I power the motors, I have my 2x 4S batteries wired in series. When I charge the 2 batteries I disconnect them from series.

QUESTION:
Could I leave the DC-4S plugged into the balance lead while the two 4S batteries are connected in series? Or will that frock it up? Will the current of the other battery mess with the DC-4S connected battery? Or are the balancer leads connected in way where they are only reading and charging the battery they are connected to? Does that make sense? Is the DC-4S "smart" enough to only read the voltages of the battery it's connected to, without the "serialized" battery interfering? Thanks,

BTW, the readout cycles between the voltage of each cell, then the total voltage.

I am hoping to be able to have two DC-4Ss permanently connected to each 4S battery to use as a voltage monitor and easy charger without disconnecting between rides. I know, I know...just buy an 8S charger. But I like these little $10 4S chargers!

I’m no expert but the only “possible” issue might be from how both the DC-4S are powered? From the same power supply might be weird in some way(s) but it might be okay too.

I charge via balance connectors from time to time (I would not go over 3A max through the small gauge wire) but I've never done it using more than one charger at a time.

mjp8081,
I have a 3S x2 setup connected with Twin pack charge lead, which you can find at http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__10993__Twin_pack_charge_lead_2_x_3S_6S_w_XT60.html

my batteries are always connected to the ESC and to each other in serial, while I'm charging.
works well for me

btw.
3s x 2 (6s) balanced charge takes up to 120 min

I found this out the hard way: If you use the ESC on/off switch and leave the two 3s batteries plugged in series you have to use two different chargers. If you have a kill switch or a switch disconnecting the batteries form the esc then you can use the connector that xdaass is using and use one 6s charger. I used the ESC on/off switch and burnt up a connector like that. So, Yes. What you have pictured will work, but like YKick said, use separate power supplies. Hope that helps!
