Hi,

I have had a problem recently with two DD motors;

* Replaced a faulty hall sensor and motor runs rough with low torque (all wiring remains as original). I have connected my tester up and all hall sensors/motor windings function correctly.
I have tried different combinations of wiring but no luck and used a different controller set up too.

* Re-wired a damaged wiring loom due to an accident. All wiring as original and tests OK but runs the same as first motor (roughly with low torque). I suspected motor poling due to bent axle, but not the case.

I'm suspecting i now have the opposite of magic fingers and everything i touch turns to shit haha.

Any help will of course be greatly appreciated,
cheers,
Mic

Hi Mic,
If the Halls are working as they should then there's a chance you have a shorting winding. If you could put the phase outputs through a scope, or in the poor-mans toolkits, a couple of speakers, turning the wheel should generate a signal (or a noise) which is nice and harmonious and of the same volume, albeit out by 120 degrees. If there is a short one of them will have a lower amplitude. Otherwise, have you tried different controllers and got the same effect? I found some dodgy connectors did the same thing to my motor, but were an easy fix.
Hope this was of some use!
Chris
