Dillenger Electric Bikes Warning

This week I had time to install A Dillinger kit to my Giant 29er.
The hub when it arrived was already scratched in many places. The rim has scratch marks where the spokes have been tightened.

On the rear hub three out of the six disk brake treads were of such a depth that the supplied socked headed cap screws bottomed out before they contacted thread. They were either stripped out or they were drilled incorrectly. Socked headed bolts had to be manufactured and the holes re-tapped. surprisingly the problem holes were all on one side in a row. The other three holes were not a problem.

The computer display when removed from its box had a fog inside the display that is reminiscent of a LCD that has water inside it, There is no doubt that as it's a sealed unit it is likely to fail latter due to the water already inside it.

The rear rack is not suitable for a rear suspension bike. It is only 50mm from the tire when mounted.

If I did not know better I would suggest this kit has been returned and then repacked and re-sent.
I purchased an Australian made kit to keep jobs here. The Chinese kits I have seen are cheaper, have a better finish and better quality control. We have to do better if Australian business is to survive the cheap imports.

That kit is made in China, only the components are put together and rebadged by Dillenger.

Dillenger kits are comprised of components manufactured in China. It's possible that you received a"second hand" kit since Dillenger's CS is in Australia. Contact Sam Sewell (by pm on ES if necessary - look for DillengerAu); he's the owner and a very good person to deal with.

I would be very surprised if you can find any "Australian made" motors , batteries, controllers, etc !..... Or even a bicycle frame . ,
It's a sad fact that we " make" absolutely bugger all here these days ! ( except maybe beer and wine  )

Speaking of bicycle frames...

Stealth might be the biggest bicycle frame builder in Australia now (electric or pedal only). There's a few boutique custom framebuilders left but most produce just single or double digit quantities per year.

At least the best solar race car motors and controllers are still Aussie designed and manufactured.

Hi there, what exactly were you told? If you were on the Australian site, there may have been something there saying we don't ship from Australia to Germany. We do ship to Germany from our UK warehouse though

Which kit are you interested in? Best way would be for me to send you a link to the right one on ebay.co.uk

Sam

Hello Sam,
The kit was a 1000 watt deal with a 48 volt 10 amp battery I was ordering on the UK site all went ok until I added my address germany was not in the drop down menu so I used my mum's address in england and my address as the delivery point and got the automated reply we don't deliver to Germany so I tried on the author site but the postage was 1300 ausdrucken I don't know if it's an over sight on the Web page but certainly something you should look at

Hi there, I had a look straight after you mentioned that and a few countries were missing. Now fixed - all good. Germany, Spain and France had a temporary hiatus for technical (unknown) reasons. All fixed now.

Cheers,

Sam

Hello Sam glad that's sorted out, you seem to know about the dillinger kits can you tell me if I order the 1000 watt kit does it include everything I need to make the bike run on pas and with throttle straight from the box or do I need to buy. Additional extras?

The only extra's I would recommend is a 6, 7, 8 or 9 speed so then you don't have to worry about trying to take yours off the old rear hub, or finding locally. Once you've got that, that's 100% of everything you need. That's if you're after a rear wheel kit.

Cheers,

Sam

don't you jerks ever give up? it is totally lame and cowardly to use an anonymous handle to insult other people or businesses when it is obvious the guy does provide service but you are such a nannies ass you expect them to suck your cock for free.

you can use your real name here. it is not one of your porn sites.

I've had substantial problems with my 1000w rear drive kit too. How do you fit the seven speed rear cassette supplied by Dillinger so that there is enough space to engage the largest cog without the chain and derailer hitting the hub? Same on the other side, there isn't enough space for the smallest cog - it is resting against the bike frame. I've been advised to use spacers but am very reluctant to do this as I dont think stretching the bike around the wheel is a very good idea.

Just my $0.02 but I agree with the others who have posted, Dillinger customer service is probably some of the worst I have experienced to date.

They're the problem when you're the idiot with no skill or apparently also lacking the ability to read.

FFS come one mods knock this crap off. Another idiot that can't read or figure out what a spacer is. I'm no fan boy for Dillneger. I know little about them but this has turned just plain outrageous. You're letting asshats use the forum for drama queen antics and posts. Nuke 'em!
