DIY LP20 Surron charging plug to xt60 adapter?

Chi battery makes one, LP20 3-Pin Male to XT-60 Female Adapter But im not willing to pay $30 for something i should be easily able to make my self for less than $10. I need one for my trickle charger for my surron battery, that uses xt60 instead of the surron charger plug. If i got the male surron plug and the xt60 plug, how would i wire it? because the surron plug is 3 pin, but the xt60 is 2 pin, how does Chi do it?

What is the surron third conductor for? Is it a data pin? Does the surron charger need its data to initiate charging? Or is it a dummy pin?

You can buy pigtails to make things easier. Then the adapter is just soldering or crimping the end of the wires together and heat shrinking down.

Every battery I ever took apart with 3 pin XLR was just positive, negative, and unconnected. The unconnected pin prevents you from plugging it in backwards. Always verify with a multimeter first, though.

I do buy cheap batteries, though. Theoretically there could be some signal or temperature sensor on the last pin on expensive ones. I've seen battery blenders where a third pin connects a contact to ground to enable a charging behavior vs. a discharging behavior too.
