Does anybody have a battery spot welder?

I scored some A123 cells, but a bunch of them have failed spot welds and the tabs came off.

I'm looking for somebody that has a spot welder that can stick them back on for me. Local would be best (San Francisco area).

I've seen some RC forums where guys soldered directly to the cells, but I'd like to avoid that if possible.

Don't know if this will help, but I asked at a Batteries Plus if they would do some tab welding for me a while back. They seemed willing to, and reasonably cheap. its a national chain, but I don't know if they have one in your area.

Your local Batteries Plus store may have a spot welder. Mine does.

I'll give it a try with my homemade setup if you want.... If you are desperate enough to ship them to NM.

That's the least I can do, considering all the help you have given me here.
