For me the ebike is and will be forever the ultimate form of personal transportation for urban and all other environments.
Even if they start putting mettal plates in every sidewalk for hooverbord drivers.

you probably neglegt the amount of dead weight being carried with an e-bike compared to a portable EV

In a world with perfectly smooth roads and trains and busses all around by the minute where u can jump in. The eboard can be the winner.
In a world without thiefs and vandals the ebike and a good lock is the winner.

I want an eBike but unfortunately BART/Train system is way too crowded to move around on the train. My eBoard barely takes any space on a train. Not only much more difficult to walk up and down stairs with it. Not impossible but I would definitely add about 10-15 minutes longer to my commute if not 20 minutes just by carrying a bike with me.

I think the thief and vandals win when you lock your bike up outside. You can't steal an eboard that easy when its in your hands. I love my ebike too, but I wouldn't dare lock it up on the street - anywhere. I'd take the board in to work with me, if someone steals it at your desk you've got office problems.
