E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

///Stolen Stealth Bombers///

For everyone,
Stealth has located two stolen Bombers. One I Florida USA and one in Australia. Here how its been going down. These shitbag thieves steal a bike, then contact Stealth for a charger because they miraculously lost the charger during a recent move. Stealth "naturally" needs to verify the machines as a Stealth product so they can send the "correct" charger and requests pics from the Vboxx and head tube. So guess what, they get the pics and the number placards on the frames are removed and the vboxx numbers are ground off. So what we need to do is reach out to everyone that has had their bikes stolen and get them to contact Stealth and the agency they filed the stolen property report with. Stealth is really going above the call for trying to reunite stolen machines with their owners. I am trying to help Stealth with locating the owner/victim in Florida. I filed a stolen property report online with Miami Dade County CS. The problem I am running in to is, I can't locate the Bomber's victim to get a hold of Miami PD and say, hey here is my bike Stealth located from a clown trying to buy a charger. So the most a 3rd party complaint will do is place a hold on machine in question and see if the owner turns up. If not, the machine gets released back to the person it was seized from. This is what needs to happen, if anyone has a their machine stolen, report it to the local police and Stealth's Forum in the MIA thread. Also contact Teresa @ sales@stealthelectricbikes.com and keep emails and phone numbers contact info current. Then when Stealth comes across a bike that may be stolen, they can give the would be customers contact and address info to the victim, and the victim takes that to the Law Enforcement agency with residing jurisdiction, identifies, and gets their machines back, and maybe sends some one away for a while the process. I don't know how most other countries are, but in the US, when it comes to property crimes, if their is no identified victim, there is no crime.

Good to hear Rix! I noticed the stolen registry on the stealth site just yesterday.
And here's me casually leaving mine leaning against a boxes of stock inside the bunnings front entrance (home depot equivalent) every time I go up there! I figure there's too many people staring at it for anyone to actually pinch it

BTW Rix, looks like you've been busted singing on the job again

LOL somebody sent me this vid a few days ago asking if it was Rick. I said I thought maybe it was Rick's softie cousin from Delaware. Not sure that we'd ever see Rick doing singalong to Taylor Swift...Led Zepp or AC/DC possible but not probable.

Yah Remf, you know how I roll! :p . Some ACDC she shook me all night long, while riding my Fighter, or Zepp, stair way to ebike heaven, hell yah!

a friend of mine wants to buy a bomber. he will be using the bike going up and down stairs, is the bomber capable of doing that? I mean it is heavy with a rear motor
he wants to use the bike commuting to work where a lot of stairs on the path. normal stairs height.
his concern of going down stair is possible damage of the rear part, going up is about the power ability

U can ride down them but ur b pushing up them with throttle

Stairs are hubmotor killers. You will overheat fast. Where is he located?

I have a feeling of that as well.
I only will ride offroad, but my friend wants a different approach.
He lives in US, and want the bomber for work commute. anything can improve or there is none?

when the bike is so heavy is it possible to push and throttle same time ? without losing balance on climbing stairs ?

Hub motors works best at higher RPMs, if you go slow and full throttle in the bush they will get hot. Best thing to do if you want to jump around on the stairs is a mid drive. Something like this:

Perfect for his application. But they are noisy.

It Takes abit of practice but doable b easyer with a fighter though.

Hey all wanted to share w yall the latest mod.

Ala Rick I got 2 Lizard skins SuperJumbo Chainstay Guards and wrapped the rear shock with em.. Works great. The Velcro on these is amazing. So I also got the standard chainstay guard and wrapped the connectors that go to the motor. I needed to trim mine in length about 1-2 inches. i'll take pics.

Sweet! I do this on everything with two wheels and a shock. Seals and bushings last soooo much longer when they not having mud sliding between and the tubes.

Yes just don't blip the throttle wot

Anyone have a phone or email address for http://www.motobikewheels.com ?

No contact details on the web site. Which seems a bit dodgy. Especially when I already ordered a new 19x1.6 rim.

I've just been messaging him via the forums - seems to respond [strike]relatively[/strike] quickly. (http://endless-sphere.com/forums/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=35387)

I haven't actually received my wheels yet, nor have they shipped (that I am aware of at least) - apparently received the wrong hub from supplier.
The rims seem to be painted though and look great, can't wait to get them.

[strike]Edit: correct me if I'm mistaken that that is roadrash's site? it is in his sig and he does build wheels - I may have joined dots that aren't supposed to be?[/strike]
Seems to mention the site in his wheel thread, so I assume it's his.

hey guys,

so i took delivery of a new fighter a couple of weeks ago. I was amazed that the battery was still holding and almost full charge after >2months in transit.

My bomber battery never held a charge this good. Wonder if they changed suppliers of chemistries ? or config? ?

Anyhow, i love the bike, perfect balance and good power.

I am having a custom battery pack made up for it and am curious to know if the motor/controller, can handle higher voltage then 48 nominal? and if so what is the max voltage it can handle? If the bottleneck is in the controller i may change that out for a sine wave, so what is the voltage limitations on the motor? which motor is it?

ThX

Cheers!!

I wouldn't like the idea of taking my Bomber up stairs, but Bomber's are great for commuting. I ride mine 3 days a week on a 26 mile round trip commute in traffic.

Yah, the batteries that came in the Stealth older models uses Lifepo4 chemistry, now they are using LiIon chemistry, this chemistry holds peak charge better, doesn't have as much volt sag when cold, and doesn't seem to discharge during storage as much. For you custom battery, keep it at 20s or less, keep your peak discharge wh at 4300 or less with the DC1, and you should be very very happy, you could probably go more, but your DC1 may not let you program higher as they come preprogrammed with limits from Stealth. This will also void the hell out of your warranty. The only way you know for sure what your DC1 limits are programmed at is go to the 3rd screen on your DC1 and scroll down to where you can access the screen to increase/decrease your DC input in settings.

Is that true, li-ion? Did not know that they changed it. I wonder what cells they are using. Do the bikes have more Ah or do they have same capacity and instead lighter? My bike from 2013 have lifepo4
Action, you have an Adaptto lying around don't you? The motor can handle what ever volts(100-150v) it is the Phase amps you need to worry about. It is Amps that tost your motor.
But why would you want to have a new battery?

ThX guys,

Yeah I was blown away when after two plus months in winter i turned it on and it was at full. Amazing!!!

RiX What exactly is Lilon?

Yes Allex i have the adaptto to switch out if needed. its currently on another build.

I find the Fighter a little noisier then the bomber but otherwise its been amazing, I figure there is room in the fighter for about 120 25R cells so i am looking at the optimal voltage and config. ? I still have a lot to learn about all this.

It has always been said that it was better to keep the amps down and the voltage higher for less heat but recently i read something that seemed to go against that ?

So right now I am looking at 20S/6P or 15S/8P any recommendations would be awesome! Cheers!!

You probably already read Science, Physics, Math, & Myth thread, http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=64907
So it is better to ask there about recommendations. If you want good acceleration then you need to have lots of Amps flowing to it.
I think you can cram more than 120 cells in there. Smething like 18s8p or 20s8p would be good for your tc4080. And if you want it dead quiet just mount Adaptto.

Interesting. ..all I have been dealing with is Voltage sag all winter. Granted I rode when it was -29 c and managed to ride at a decent speed. I wiped out on some ice two days ago and bent my crank arm. Headed to my authorized Stealth bike shop to grab a new one and hung out for a while to charge my Bomber. When I stepped back out into the cold, my bike was oj Steroids because I charged at room temperature instead of the cold underground parking of my condo.

Allex, truth of the matter is, I am only speculating that the chemistry is now Lithium Ion, I based this on the fact that with my older Bombers lifepo4 pack, hot of charge is 87 volts more or less, then the charge settled down to 79.9 or so. The pack that originally came in my Fighter didn't settle out all. It would charge to 58.8 volts, and it stayed at 58.7 volts over night, and never sag below 58.6 volts even after it sat for a week. These traits are consistent with LiIon and Lipo chemistries, so even though I haven't actually seen one the new packs disassembled, I concluded that the chemistry must be LiIon and no Lifepo4 as I know that Stealth wouldn't use Lipos in production machines.

Voltage sag tolerance and 24 + AH would be really nice. Yesterday I charged my Bomber after my commute and then put away the charger for the day. Battery voltage was down to 81.2 volts when I had to go back home (35 km -20 miles) and I had a significant less amount of zip vs hot off the charger. Nothing beat room temperature riding out into -5 c...fastest I've felt yet on the 5404 with MX wheel/tire. Can't wait for the summer to get the full zing out of the motor.

LIion is short for Lithium Ion, I may have the abbreviation table wrong as I am not to savvy with chem acronyms. 15S would be the best option for you fighter in terms of durability and reliability. 15S would give you 63 volts, vs 58.8 hot off charge, that would translate into another mile per hour or more as well as a slight increase in overall performance. Not huge though. I am betting unless you flowing a lot more amps, you wouldn't be able to feel much at the wrist. you start jumping up in 2 s increments, and things become noticeable. IF you go 15s, might as well go 16s or 18s if you don't want 20s. You will still feel a difference in performance above stock. If you go 16s you have enough for 7P based on you dimension input.
