E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Hah, I am thinking totally different. Since it is almost free to ride a Stealth. I never drive efficiently. Oh forgot about the rear tyre. Razorbacks and holyrollers last for about 300km/180miles. I guess Those tyres are not 10kW rated :)

Since you brought it up, I don't think the Hook Worms will last very long either. Not the rear one anyway. My rear one is already showing signs of wear. I guess that's the price you pay for a super grippy tire. I still like it best though.

I have the Bomber from one week and it is still in pieces as delivered because I have been designing a kickstand and have been installing a PAS system on the right side of the V-Boxx.
For the moment everything is fine except the fake carbon fiber stickers that I have on the side panels, with the price this e-bike costs I thought they were real carbon fiber. If you buy a Ferrari you get real carbon parts

Bigbore, cosa successo? Hai addetto qualcosa pocchito e poi niente piu :?:  A PAS on a Vboxx, that is a first :D . Lots of people are chompin at the bit waiting to see how this goes. :p

Same here. 18 miles max...

thanks for all the input. There was a guy on here the built his own battery with 200 LG IMR18650 cells and doubled his range in the process. Is this something that is real and achievable ? Are there companies out there that will build batteries for you ?

Allex is the man for that info, hes using those cells i think and get twice the range,
But its gona cost u £££
To b fair i thought about doing that but with cost of a bomber and other upgrades, then the idea of battery upgrades just got to much ££
In the future batterys are going to get better in every way so may do it then

Sure, Andreym did my battery.
He can build you one that will have 43Ah capacity an 84Volts . That is if he uses Tesla Model S cells.
Stock pack have 18Ah

But you will need a new charger for it.

God dammit allex 43ah ok ok so whats the total cost on this ?
Got me at it now :D

No Idea on what he takes for them now, but you can PM him:

I would say around 2000bucks but could be lower now.
The bomber can hold 280 cells
But you dont have to fill it, you can go with a half and save a lot of weight!

Tell me more about this pas system ?

Is very simple, with this PAS the +5V to the throttle will be connected only while the pedals are spinning. It works with every controller because a circuit (that I have to receive yet) will do what I described.
More tech details are here:

Thanks everyone for the help, I did contact him. My biggest concern is shipping the battery from Russia to Canada. With 43Ah capacity an 84Volt what type of range could I realize?

Depends on what Wh/km you get now. But judging by your post it is 36wh/km
I don't know if you have the older model with CA or newer with DC1
In CA you can see that in the menus.

The new battery would be 3100Wh so just divide 3100 by your wh/km consumption and you will get the range.
So about 86km.

Guys, where are you buying your Duro Razorbacks tires?

I am a little concerned John, the updated Duro website doesn't even show the Razorback 24x3.00 being made now. There are still some out there, but last week JensonUSA was taking back orders for the Razorback, this week, they don't show the Razorback on their website.

Could try halo contras there the same but i think thay mit b slightly softer
Iv got one but im trying VUELTA USA first see how thay go

This is a good mod i diddent like the lack of grip from the throttle grip so i got some," heat shrink handle cover "
Off the old faithful ebay and it works a treat

Razorbacks are basically dead…Halo contras are the next closest thing. Basically the same tire with softer rubber.

On a similar note have a moto rim on the back and am running the VRM021 on the back. I have found that the 021 lasts forever and ever and ever… beats the hell out of my old razorback. The weight hit is barely noticeable. When I first got them I could tell the bike turned differently but its nominal. My razorback on the front is the same one I got with the bike. its looking a bit worn prob about 3/4 through its life. I have found that this combo is a great balance. The front and rear slide pretty evenly as long as your body position is correct. I'm running both front and rear at 15lbs. W/O any rim locks. Im going to drop down to 12lbs and see what gives. I ride only dirt and pretty aggressive and have not had any issue with this combo. The overall grip level is lower than my moto but its even and very progressive. I have been able to catch rear and front end slides consistently. damn good combo though...

The Halo Contra looks so much like the Razorback, I wouldn't be surprised if it came out of the same mold. Halo USA has them on their site, but they are spendy, $50 plus ship. Chain Reaction lists them, but not in stock.

The Duro 24 X 3.0 Wildlife Leopard is nearly identical. It may have a different compound. You can find it on unicycle sites, but again, spendy.

I really like the Razorback on the terrain I ride. Super grippy on smooth rock slabs that I do not want to go down on, and bites really well on the intermediate pack as well.
Tread life is killing me, even though I am doing better than some of you. Probably due in part to 60% asphalt commuting.

I wonder what the Stealth factory is thinking about this. The trend seems to be 24" is going out, except for cruisers and some BMX. Neither discipline wants fat, off road oriented tires. The industry is all buzzing about 650B now. WTB is coming out with a 27.5 X 2.8 tire, which is a gonzo 28.56" inflated. Not going to fit the fork... Even the big 26" tires are borderline.

It really seems like it becomes cost effective to get away from bicycle tires on this bike if you are riding a lot. This is probably the straw that will break my wallet and get me on moto rims sooner rather than later. More importantly, I don't want to spend the time changing tires every month. Not worth it.

I'm still grappling with the weight, but I'll get over it. Thinking about a tubeless conversion.

Good point,
i dont like idea of more weight i just can't see it helping at all with hub in rim
But I quess just have to at some point
The factory should of made there tyre choice a lot better

Great points indeed. I am sure Stealth has something up their sleeve to address the duro Razorback supply issue. Yah, the Halo Contras and Wildlife Leopard are the same tread pattern, the wildlife has a softer compound than the Razorbacks, I compared them side by side. Also, the Wildlife Leopard did wear a little faster on the front, but not much. I can get 1500 miles out of Razorback on the front, got about 1150 with the wildlife leopard. I guess I am luck as I bought 10 Razorbacks for 250 bucks two years back. I am down to 2 left. Going to need to find something else, or go back to a motor tire and rim combo on the front.

Halos are great and work well on the front as they are definately a softer compound. Tried to buy some new old stock Vueltas but they won't ship to North America. Gonna need to find something!

It was the trend at the time. Plus, the Duro with it's thick moto duty casing is a good choice for a 120lb bike.
Cycling is fickle that way, like a lot of sports/hobbies. What's in this year is out two years from now. Keeps us reaching into our wallets. Don't get me started about fat bikes.

Rix, are you still running a 24" front? What do you use for the front with the shinko 241 rear?
