E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

I hear some strange rumours sometimes...but this one won't go away like it's undead...apparently there is a Stealth Zombie movie for real. All I can say is
I WANT BRAINS!!!!!!

Hi Guys

I have an acquaintaince here with a Stealth, that he may want to sell. Looks immaculate, but he has killed the battery From what I have been told he may have plugged in the wrong charger

What is the voltage and Ah of the pack?

If any one had a wiring diagram of the bike too that would help. I have just looked at the bike, the battery is out, and up the top of the open frame triangle there are two cut multicore wires. Not sure what they are as yet. and sorry , I did not even get a photo. That is to come

But battery info first please.

I have not even seen the original pack, did it have a BMS built in or is the BMS part of the bike...and there fore maybe the cut wires are BMS connections?

Even for now if I can build up a pack for it to make ir run again , or allow be to probe the cut wires and see what is what.

Or are original packs available ? and how much?

Final question ...what does a used Bomber sell for ?

72v 18ah battery
Bms is built into battery
New battery from stealth 2500 dollars
Or get one made from someone else about £700 -1500 depends what spec u want
Theres not that many wires in there 2 for charging port ,2 to key switch, main battery plug big one
Ca wires
Best show us some pics
Allex has a battery for sale

Just adding to what the other guy's have said, What is the bike make number as it will help determine what year model it is and therefore worth.
For example near new late 2014 bomber's go for about AUD$7000(USD$5500) whereas a 2010 one will go for about AUD$3000 (USD$2300) WITH a battery.
As a battery from stealth is AUD$2500, buying a bike without a battery can lessen the value alot!
I was lucky recently and got a late 2014 bomber with only 600km's on it for AUD$5000(USD$3900) So it depends how desperate he is to get rid of it.

Good day, a question..
Is it as easy as it looks to remove the swing arm of a bomber?

Yes, remove the wheel, brake caliper, chain, bottom shock bolts, then remove the two pinch bolts on each side of the swingarm and it will fall off the Vboxx.

Hows the carbon sump guard coming on? Are u still going to make one?
Jim

Hie Jimboyr6, we are at prototype stage and we are very happy with it at this point. It will be on our website when we have pics & specs sorted. If you are keen shoot us a PM or an email for price and details etc. cheeers quigleyms@internode.on.net

Stealth should offer shirts like that.

A big lightening bolt on the front like that, and Stealth Electric Bikes on the back

OK, I got more info on the bike that is for sale, and had a closer look at it/

It is Build 094...so how old does that put it?

the cut wire appears to be just the display cable...is that just a bog standard CA in there?

Any info on the controller too. Does it have a USB program header or is it a non programable Xlyte controller.

What are the voltage limits of this controller set to LVC HVC etc ? Can I plug a 20 series pack straight in?

Yah, your 20s lipo would work great, just increase your LVC from the stock setting of 70 to 72 volts for the CA so you keep your pack from going below 3.6 volts per cell. If the controller is the 18, 4110 fet controller my old Bomber #143 came with, then you are okay for up to 92 volts with a 6 or so volt margin of error.

Great, thanks

Neil, Yeah they use Standard CA in there as well as a Crystalyte non programmable, LVC should be at 60V for the controller.

 Shocked !! ..they charged that much for basic CA kit and bog standard Xlyte controller....suppose you are really paying for the frame. and gearbox.

What age would it be at #094?

Anyone have a direct e-mail for anyone there at Stealth or will any of their wrbsite e-mails do?

I a was suprised at it being a stock controller and CA. For the money they sold for I expected a lot more . But I guess the money is in the frame really.

It turns out it never got much use because the charger/battery 'system' failed and battery pack melted when something died in either it or the charger.

For LiPo, with a balanced pack even with no BMS though I'd happily set 68 volt.

Final question, any one know the winding count on the motor? From the soeed they claim I'd guess a higher speed than my 5304, ?

Neil,

It's probably a 2011, maybe a 2012. If it has as little wear on it as you say, there may still be a sticker on it on the OD of the hub motor between the spokes. Mine says "5403"

Cheers I'll go back and have a look.

So it is a 54xx motor, OK, it looked wider than my silver 5403 motor

in fact it looks a totally different motor to the any of the three Xlytes I have. I have a 5304, a5403 and one of the more modern HT 35 motors.

I'd be surprised if it was an 03 winding though to get the claimed speed at 72 volt. The advert I believe says 50mph...thought more torquey motor, in smaller rim, maybe mine build is not getting the motor up to max speed I have a 5304 in a 26 inch MTB rim at 72-82 volts and it tops out at about 42..but that could very eel be current limiting.
But then again ,,a standard Xlyte controller is not going to be putting gout much current . What is it set at for battery ?80 amps? 90 maybe at a push?
