E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Well I finally did it... took me months but I did it. I have joined the ran out of juice on my bomber club!!! I was out in the middle of east jesus and decided to go just a little bit further... I can make it right? WRONG! well me throttle I turn....1/2 power.....1/4 power.....no power...... and finally me having to bike uphill at night. So I like to say thanks for having me join the club and I hope to never do it again...damn good workout though!

You really have to carefully manage your power whenever you ride out to east jesus.

Yah, in my experience, I have only made this mistake once, and that's enough.

Guys, lets not forget that mini-e only have 6FETS. No way you can have the same performance with that as with a 18FET Xie based controllers. The mini can drive a bike up to 75km/h period, thats about 3500-4000Watts of power to get it there. You can push it further but you will overheat it very fast and thermal management inside will kick in to save the controller.

Rix, the bike does accelerate hard up to 40km/h then it goes slower up to speed. I think that this is because you reach the kV/V of the motor. If I would have 48V then probably a hard acceleration to 45-50.
Today I did a run with fresh battery 42V hot of the charger and the speed was 70Km/h oops :)
It does 50km/h easy (OVS 0) and with the help of OVS(overspeed setting 5-7) setting you can get it up to 70
[]

Upped the battery current to 160DC Amps and got 6,2KW of power. I think I will keep it this way for a while. I am not a speed junky, I am acceleration addict :)

Stritzky, pretty easy, just press down the metal holders with a small screw driver and remove the leads from the housing. (oh you fixed that already)

That is very impressive speed for the equivalent of a 10s battery. This is a selling point for me. For now, I can't do it, but when the time comes, I would like to order a Max E from you, with your program mods, what kind of advanced notice would you need to do this? Thanks for posting the data Allex.

Thanks...saved me a costly mistake...that is what the Adaptto E-Drive labs people said too on the other thread.
Yeah ok, maybe I was overstating it a little. ;) :p
I still think it is far more power dense than anything else though. No other 6Fet controller can claim 3KW continuous 6KW peaks.
Also, with some good cooling, it should be able to handle more power. I'm thinking of spraying mine with some insulating varnish inside and mounting some small fans to pull air through it.

Cheers

it has been a long time since i took the bomber for a ride. a photo i took

Same thing happened to me. I ended up having to cut a slot in the nut head so I could jam a tool (can't remember what) into the slot and turn it like a screwdriver. A hammer also came in handy to get it started.

Stealth were kind enough to send me a replacement.

Good luck!

Cheers

Get your self a course sheet metal screw with 8mm shank threads and 13mm hex hed, and screw it in, because these are left hand threads on this axle nut cap, as you tighten the screw, the cap will eventually break loos and come right out, that's why that cap nut is stripped, someone didn't realize it was left handed threads, and tried to remove it, and inadvertently tightened the cap until allen gave away and stripped out.

Buy your self a Key file set and just make a new Allen socket hole. Just make it a little bit larger. Aluminum is very easy to work. And it shouldn't take you more than 10 - 30 min. Then it should be as good as new. And should last for a long time to come.

i get my bomber next week and have a choice of a black one with upgraded forks or an army grey with red wheels and handlebars with ugraded forks
the latter one is £800 more what should i buy?

Mmm get the black one, red wheels dont go with army grey
I dont think anyway
