E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

I have a 2012 Bomber and a 2014 Fighter. Well dad has commandeered the Bomber. Acceleration in stock form between the 2 is really close, but the Bomber keeps pulling past 40MPH where as the Fighter doesn't. Fighter is lighter (hey that rhymes) and I like the handling better, my dad doesn't he likes the Bomber better. Guess its a matter of preference. Curious to see what you think.

OK so my first impression of the 2015 SB744 was off. Way off.

I had a chance to put a 6 mile aggressive street ride on it........ I adj the CA from soft start to hard start....... and it has the punch back. Not as much as the sb178, but close.
And my oh my the mid/top end is nuts.
the suspension of the new bike (w/o upgrades) is pretty nice. It just eats up ruts/curbs sm pets.

I'm probably going to strip my sb178 down and put a custom paint job on her...... thinking matte silver, or candy apple red. TBD.

Discovering these bikes has changed me....... I used to jetski all the time..... been jetskiing since 1986........ and I finally found something that replaces that. Plus I don't have to drive 90 miles to hit the water.
I just go out of my garage and I have suburban free-ride, bike paths, streets, and some great single track just 100 yds from my door!

Thx Stealth for inventing such a cool toy.

Did new stealth bikes top coming with the cool little blingy bullet tire caps? My new SB has just regular plastic caps?
Wondering if they got knicked on the trip?

I've got some ebay aluminum bullet tire caps on order........ for the "full effect".

This is a very refreshing question for someone to ask in capital of squareville. I have dice, and leather streamers. :)

I love those bullet valve stem caps. My Bomber had them, but my Fighter didn't. I don't think they got knicked on the trip, someone to open the crate and just take the valve stem caps, lot of work for that. I checked the website and the bikes there look like they have the regular valve stem cap.

Did some work to the Bombers today:

SB178:
New rear tire
Cleaned the 5 pin with CRC
Installed washers on the rear shaft under the lock nuts. (ordered new lock nuts)
Read the LONG thread... to educate myself on lock nuts, and not using regen :)
Ordered a tq lock block from Wisconsin supplier.
Flushed and re-lubed the vboxx with super lube. Much smoother now in 4th gear... ahhh much better.
Installed my rear fender.

SB744:
Removed all the warning stickers. We don't need no stinking warnings.
Removed the funky bullet hole stickers on the shock guards. Now just clean black.
Cut the seat post 30mm's.
Swapped the fr/rr brake levers... had them backwards from the factory.... rear was left, front was right? Is this an Aussie thing?

Good news, a new red fighter was avail this week... ships from ca warehouse Monday, should be here end of next week.
Have a good new years all.

Hah.... well that explains it.
I changed it to what I'm used too for mountain bikes.... front on left, rear on right.

What Allex said, its a motorcycle set up with front on the throttle side. Imagine if all you rode were MTBs then switching is better, for us riders with MC back grounds, Front on the throttle side. I even set up my MTB that way.

Hang on...every Mountain bike I've ever bought and ridden had the rear on the left, front on the right, so I'm not sure where the idea it is always the other way around is coming from.

The only exception to that was a city commuting bike I rode once in Berlin...after swapping my MTB with a mate...neither of us realised the brakes were swapped until we needed to stop in a hurry, and we had a synchronised flip over the front handle bars. Wish I had that on film.

Cheers

Depends on what country you are in. The Front/Rear brake levers can be both sides.

Definitely not this way here in the US. In fact on the older Stealth Ebikes order forms, we had to request the front brake be setup on the throttle side and rear on the left.

Just read this CD, not sure I am drinking this koolaide.
How about some of this koolaide then...I just conquered another local hill in my area. :)

I had to crawl up a walking track with a bunch of stairs on this one, so probably won't be doing that again.

Using my Fighter alone, I've now been up every hill within a 5km radius of my house, and only have a handful left to explore to conquer every hill within a 10km radius. :D

Cheers

Holy shit CD, Canberra looks like paradise on earth. Look at those rolling hills. Beautiful. Freezing are ass off here. its 1F right now.

Great pictures CD. It looks so warm. If I was rich I'd own a house in Dallas, and one in Australia, and It would always be summer for me. :D

Speaking of being rich, I've been reading some stories online lately about eBikes.

One thing they're saying is, billionaires sail around the world in their yachts, and when they come ashore they prefer to ride around town on their own eBikes. That was a few months ago I read that.

Then more recently I read a story about there being an extremely high end niche market for designer electric bicycles. Apparently you'll probably never see any of these bikes except at manufacturer conferences, and industry gatherings something like interbike. Prices seem to range between $40,000 to $80,000 and up. Their clientele are billionaires, and movie stars.

What I find interesting is that I haven't even seen so much as one single itty bitty claim that any one of those bikes could out perform a lowly $10,000 Bomber. On top of that, none of the bikes I've seen look like they could take a beating day in, and day out like a Stealth. What that tells me is just because you don't have a billion dollars doesn't mean you can't own the best eBike in the world. I'll never be rich, but I am proud to own a Bomber, not because of how much it cost, but because of how great it is.

Anyone have the Stealth USA tour cities and dates? I asked to be added to the email list for the tour but haven't heard anything. I'd like to drop in when they come through Texas again.

Maybe I can have my Flux Alpha put together and let them ride it!

Yah, I stumbled across an article as well, between super high end ebikes and low powered scooters, there is a niche market for this among touring billionaires.

Thanks Rix!

You bet, let me know if you get to meet JK himself. I have been following and posting tour updates on the Performance Electricbikes Anonymous facebook page.
